Fun times at La Funtana
This is a handy spot in Santa Teresa di Gallura, close enough to wander into town but tucked away from the main bustle. Stroll down to piazzas buzzing with cafés, gelaterias and little shops, or keep going to Rena Bianca, the town’s showstopper of a beach with white sand and turquoise water. The harbour is nearby too, where boats head over to Corsica’s Bonifacio or out along the rugged coastline.
Back at the hotel, things are nice and laid-back. Your days might revolve around the swimming pool and gardens – there’s plenty of space to stretch out on a sunlounger, drift between sun and shade and generally lean into “I live here now” energy. There’s a bar for coffees and cool drinks, plus cosy corners for pre-dinner aperitivi and map-checking before your next little adventure.
When you’ve worked up an appetite, the hotel restaurant lines up relaxed breakfasts and straightforward main meals, often with Sardinian flavours in the mix. Step out and the town takes over, with trattorias, pizzerias and seafood spots serving everything from fresh grilled fish to pasta, pecorino and seadas for dessert. If you want a low-fuss base for beaches, boat trips and sunset strolls, this is a very easy Sardinian yes.
