Comfortable base in buzzy Porta Garibaldi
Head north out of Milan’s city centre and you’ll find yourself on the lively streets of the Porta Garibaldi neighbourhood. Along with a top-notch atmosphere, this part of town has got more than its fair share of great bars and restaurants. And if you stay at Holiday Inn Milan Garibaldi Station all this (and more) will be within arm’s reach.
Step outside the door of the hotel and you’re already at your nearest tram stop, so you needn’t worry about making your way around. If it’s the metro you need, that’s just five minutes’ walk away, too. Either of them will get you into central in about 20 minutes, so if the Piazza del Duomo is top of the agenda, you’ll have it ticked off in no time.
Don’t sleep on Porta Garibaldi, though – it’s got a good rep for a reason. With museums, gardens, and a mix of old and new architecture, these streets are as good for a mosey as any you’ll find elsewhere in the city. And for a relaxed stroll? You’d be hard pushed to find a better setting than the Tree Library – an expansive park that’s just 10 minutes’ walk from the hotel.
