"Park regency hotel is a lovely hotel within a good area of sharm el sheik. The transfer from the hotel is about 10 minutes with private transfer.
The hotel is stunning and beautifully designed with cascading waterfalls and enticing pools surrounded by palm trees. The view of the sea and beach are beautiful.
From the reception area to the pools and further to the beach is quite a decline so may not be the best hotel for anyone with mobility issues. There are both slopes and stairs but the slopes are steep in places and even being a younger family this became tiring on some days especially in the heat.
The main restaurant has a large selection of food but is fairly repetitive. We found something we liked each day. In the evening the grill section is particularly nice and also the pasta man making fresh pasta dishes to order. There are other restaurants on site, a few à la carte which you have to pay for and a couple that are included with all inclusive which need to be booked. Otherwise there are food stalls on the beach and the cascade bar we enjoyed for lunch which did a nice selection of snacks. The waiters are incredible throughout the hotel and in particular in the main restaurant, working tirelessly throughout the day and remain smiling and helpful.
There are three pools, set over three levels, one of which is adults only. The sunbeds were easily available throughout the day and if we struggled on busier days, the kind lifesguards helped us get beds and umbrellas. There is one waterside which the kids (and adults) enjoyed. The pool is a good temperature but was a little cooler than the sea.
The beach is a great spot right on the coral reef. The sea is beautiful and easily accessible by the beach. Sunbeds are reserved early with towels on them but head down for a morning swim as this is the best time for snorkelling and you will get sunbeds easily. The downside is that people are not educated enough about the reef and constantly standing on it which means the lifeguards have to consistently whistle to tell them the get off. Unfortunately this has had a detrimental effect of the quality of the reef here but swim along the coast a little and it is beautiful. The fish are incredible and even standing knee height in the sea you will see an abundance fish of all colours around your feet. There is also access by a floating pier as an alternative to the beach access. There are watersports, boat trips and scuba diving that can all be arranged on the beach.
Ali and his team make the beach area a great experience and nothing is too much trouble. The beach is beautifully clean and well maintained and Ali and his crew made sure that everyone was kept safe and looked after.
The hotel is dominated mostly by Russians with a few other nationalities. The entertainment therefore is aimed at Russians and a lot of the staff speak Russian but some have good an English also. The mini disco is the evenings is 30 minutes which the kids loved and this is followed by a singer and often other entertainment ie dancers, Egyptian musicians or belly dancers. They host the entertainment once a week by the pool and once a week on the beach which was great. Otherwise this is in the amphitheater which is a bit further away out the front of the hotel and wasn’t our favourite location. The music is consistently a few decibels too high and with the tiring children by this point they found it a bit too loud. There was also a couple of occasions (including a foam party) where the music would be ramped up by the pool mid afternoon which was for us too much for the daytime with children. But personal preference as lots enjoyed this.
Their staff at Park regency made our stay here exceedingly special and to highlight a few, Ali (on the beach), Mohamed (at the pool) and Ahmed (the restaurant manager). They all made us feel like family and treated us exceptionally throughout. Thank you all for making out stay amazing!!
My one recommendation would be that the hotel tries to protect the reef more. When people check in, the reception staff could easily give guests information about the reef including not standing on it or touching it. Fines should also be given if this information is ignored because the damage is visible. The bouys could be repositioned better in the sea so it’s clearer where people can go and better signage in places where you enter the water as these are being missed/ignored. This would help the beach staff who a relentlessly attempting to protect the area but failing miserably with the ignorance of the guests."
