Coastal charm and Old World treats on the Croatian coast
Located along the Adriatic highway, halfway between Split and Šibenik, Marina is known for its pristine beaches and clear waters, its biking and hiking trails, and its medieval churches and ruins. If you’d like a taste of ‘Old World’ Croatia, with the charm and comforts of a coastal town, this might just be the destination for you.
Thanks to its indented coastline, the bays and capes of Marina make excellent trails. Whether you’re a hiker, a biker, or love a casual wander there’s loads for you to get out and explore. We recommend heading for Drid Hill and the Church of Our Lady of the Snows for killer views and medieval ruins. The Marina hinterland is not to be missed either – punctuated by vineyards and olive groves you can even spot old Croatian Sacral architecture here. And if you want to explore further afield, the town of Trogir, known for its architecture, is only a 15-minute taxi-ride away but feels other-worldly.
If you like things more laid-back, literally, the sand and pebble beaches of the region are the perfect place to stretch out and soak up the sun. Think jewel-toned water and plenty of Börek to fuel your perfect day on the shore.
In the evenings make for a restaurant in the harbour to feast on fresh seafood, local wine, and olives as the sun goes down.
