Clayton Hotel Chiswick

"As a regular here through business I’m always more than happy to return to The Clayton. I find facilities to my liking, some rooms are better than others but in my opinion all are clean with light coming into the large windows adding cheer even as the nights are drawing in. Sometimes the room temperatures vary from warm to overly cold but this is usually remedied. In my experience of hotels, staff members throughout the hotel are what makes a success. The initial warm welcome by reception staff member Jessica was to the usual high level. I should also mention Elletra and Manisha who were always there to answer any queries I might have had during my stay. Usually these queries relate to my laundry being collectable or general enquiries. The bar staff whose names I do not know are always efficient and smiling. Hotel food is not the Ritz but still good enough. Overall for a business traveller to be welcomed every day with kindness means a lot to me."

"The staff are friendly and helpful and the location is great. However, the negative comments on here are correct. The room had no place top keep your suitcase, the room was cold, the TV controllers are a mystery but most important , the car park is almost unusable as the spaces are tiny. Good luck getting the driver's door open"

"From checking in to checking out this is a pretty soulless hotel. Starting with the car park which we’d pre booked at £22 a night it took us nearly half an hour to park as the spaces are incredibly small even with our small car. The reception staff very curt and basically told to Check in on line and we were actually standing in front of them. We did this and given our key card for our alleged ‘deluxe’ room. The room was a huge disappointment bearing in mind it’s a 4* hotel. I can only assume it was classed as deluxe as there was a shower cap in the bathroom as nothing else. In every other 4* hotels across Europe and indeed the globe we’ve always had a fridge but not here. The room was clean but very cold. Next stop the bar and things went from bad to worse. My wine had lipstick around the glass and my husbands beer had the top of a packet of nuts at the bottom. Both returned to the very surly barman. We didn’t bother with breakfast due to the very poor hygiene in the bar. Apparently a Premier League football team stayed there for our first night and hope that they were more impressed. They lost which might explain why. All in all I’d stay 250 yards away in the Travel Lodge which is a fraction of the price and have a drink in the local pub."
