Ramada by Wyndham Istanbul Pera

"Location is great for getting around the city. Shops, bars, restaurants all very close by. Check in took approx 15 minutes during which time we were asked to wait at the bar. We got a room on the third floor. The room was on the small side but ok for a 3 night stay. It was dark and not very clean. Stains and the floors, doors and in the bathrooms. The shower had little to no water pressure especially if you wanted a warm shower. The mirror in the room was smashed and our room had a light that you could not turn off. The beds were comfortable and the TV was a decent size and modern. WiFi worked well through out the hotel. The corridors are not well maintained. Stains, broken walls, waste bags, pictures falling off the walls are not the hallmarks of a 5 star hotel. There was a constant smell of cigarettes through the hotel, including in our room. The breakfast was quite poor, When we got down most of the hot food was gone and hadn't been refilled. We had to stand while we eating the few left over items. The cold drinks tasted awful (definitely not orange juice). We had breakfast at another restaurant outside of the hotel for the rest of the week. The gym was basic but did the job. The roof top pool was closed when we went to check it out. In short, the only real selling point of this hotel is its location. Its definitely not a 5 start hotel or even close. Its a 3 star at best. When we were checking our the receptionist asked to see our booking on my phone and offered us "a better room next time" if we let him give his hotel a 10/10. The speed he did it shows how often they are rating themselves. A very strange practice. Despite all this we had a great trip. Visting Istanbul is highly recommend."

Without him we would have missed our flight. He went above and beyond to make sure we were ok when we thought it was gone and we would have to cancel our holiday to Singapore and Bali. 10/10 customer service."
