"- the pool depth in the main pool was the same all around (no deep end or shallow end) I’m 5’10 and could stand but I know some of my shorter friends couldn’t really stand in there. The pool with the slides wasn’t too deep either was more shallow then the main pool
- Nice and clean complex!
- Had loads to do within walking distance, loads of shops, bars and restaurants surrounding the hotel
- I’ve seen many videos of this place in the summer with sunbed wars. We didn’t really have a problem with them the ones that get the shade are available for the majority of the day and the ones that get the sun are probably taken around 9am/10am you’ll get the odd one that hasn’t been taken but because they’ve put soo many sunbeds in one small space you won’t be able to move them around
- Entertainment wasn’t anything special, the staff did try and get you up to join in serval times but would leave you alone when they could tell you didn’t want to
- The spa was amazing! Don’t book to go to the spa till they come and find you (they will 100% track you down) they give you good discounts on the packages they do
- The spa guys noticed it was one of our birthdays in our group and hooked us up with a meal at amor down at the strip with free transport there and back!
- Nothing to do with the hotel but we did quad biking, the waterpark and the day trip to Rhodes. All were amazing experiences and highly recommend, just be careful with the trip to Rhodes the sea can get very choppy. If you’re not good with sea sickness or other People being sick don’t go! I learnt the hard way!
Cons
- although the spa was good, I think it’s terrible that they don’t leave you alone. We got there on the early hours of Friday morning, went to the pool and they asked if we was new and tried to sell us the spa straight away, we declined. Another three times they came up to us each time we declined the last time I got woken up by the manager of the spa to talk about it???! In the end we all went to get one but felt forced into it as they wouldn’t leave us alone.
- Daytime entertainment I personally think was unfair so we wanted to play beach ball, we said we wasn’t too sure on how to play but we’d give it a shot. Staff didn’t let us play as we didn’t know how to and it’s unfair on the others that take the game “seriously” but it’s okay for us not to play??? It’s a game a bit of fun? But we can’t play? Then he made us sit and watch the game for no reason even though we couldn’t play in the end. This is discrimination. They need to clean their act up
- It was someone’s birthday and someone’s anniversary in our group, they gave them both the same gift which was a fruit basket. I went to a 4 star resort a month before this and got a cake for free, yet at this hotel I had to pay for the cake (roughly £15) which I wasn’t happy about although was probably the best cake we had all week (wasn’t anything special) but can’t believe a 5 star hotel was making me pay for someone’s anniversary cake!
- The “kind” gesture the manager of the spa made for one of our parties, he originally said everything was free and they’d set up a table for us with a cake and decoration, none of this happened it was a normal table. Had a slice each of the cake and sung happy birthday to him and the food was not free like he initially said. Obviously nothing to do with the hotel but just a pre warning that this is what the staff will do.
- And then moving on to the part which made me NEVER want to go back, we had left our belongings around the big pool whilst we went to the pool with the slides, we came back after an hour the pools were still open for another 2hrs at this point and we’ve all seen that some of our things have gone missing out of our bags (sunscreen, glasses and personalised cups) after looking around for 5 minutes we’ve found our cups in the bin and sunscreen and prescription glasses on an empty sunbed? I’ve gone to reception to complain. I’ve told them the situation and they are expected us to put our hands in the bin even though they had admitted it was one of their staff that did this. We argued back and fourth for 15 minutes in the end they got staff to get our cups out of the bin and tried sending us on our way even though we couldn’t drink out of the cups as they’d been in the bin? So went back to reception to complain and they said they’d swill them out with cold water? Not good enough. Then said they’re get some soap out of the toilet. Which is when I questioned what the kitchen use to wash the dishes with and he said “the same thing” so a 5 star hotel washes dishes with soap that you’d wash your hands with??? Not actual dish soap? I didn’t eat from the hotel after that apart from the al la carte. I ate out the rest of the time as it really put me off. They has also told me I can drink tap water. Which is very clearly incorrect but if this was someone’s first ever holiday they’d believe that and make themselves ill because of what they’ve been told. The day after we was going on an excursion so couldn’t meet with the manager which I told them. On that same evening I got yelled at by the staff because I didn’t come down and talk to the manager yet I had told them the day before that I couldn’t make it. Yelling at customers for something their own staff did?? Not right at all. On the last day I managed to get hold of the manager and have a meeting, once again I got the blame “it must have been when the pools were closed” it was 4pm when we came back, pools close around 6/7pm. “You shouldn’t leave your things lying about” your staff shouldn’t be rummaging though people’s belongings. She did not take the situation seriously at all. I said that I’d be making a negative review and that I would NOT be coming back to the hotel it was only at that point did she give me money back for the cups, I did not expect this at all. Very nice of her to do this but still really put me off going back to the hotel.
- Al la carte was okay. Nothing amazing. The staff were excellent so friendly and always ready to ask any questions they even had an arm wrestle with one of us! Was brilliant. Food wasn’t for us, it was a set menu which we wasn’t too keen on. Some of the dishes the staff couldn’t explain what it was which was disappointing as we wanted to know what exactly we was eating, the steak was very chewy. We all said we’d prefer to eat at the buffet instead of the Al la carte. We was the last ones at the Al la carte, a cat walked in which we had no problem with but then decided to have a wee up against the wall, we did tell staff and we love cats but this was soo unhygienic especially when there’s food around, the staff just laughed it off so I’m guessing it’s a regular thing and they didn’t go over to inspect the wall either… so I’m not too sure on how hygienic the place is after the last few experiences.
- The last thing to point out is just personal preference but ALL of the hallways are soo dark and gloomy when walking down them. Quite stuffy too. Just makes you feel a bit sad when walking through them. All hotels I’ve been to I’ve had some kind of sunlight on the hallways. Here you have none at all
In conclusion I won’t be returning back here, there’s more cons then pros and their hygiene and cleanliness has put me right off the hotel. You couldn’t pay me to come back."
