HYDE Bodrum

"Location- Off a main road (like a mini motorway) with nothing around it. You have to take a taxi to get anywhere. BA holidays site said that it’s 1.1km from town centre- it would be an off road over a very steep hill through a forest to reach the town by foot. Hotel Aesthetic- The hotel is undeniably well furnished and the decor is very modern and stylish, comfortable seating and the sun beds are padded thick - not standard plastic ones. Room- Room was nice, bed was comfortable as were the pillows. It was cleaned everyday, fresh towels daily too. Mini bar refilled daily, as were the coffee pods. (You’ll need to ask for milk though, I got a carton from a bar and used that for the room) There is an occasional smell of sewage around the hotel. And when we’d had a shower our drains smelt a bit for a short period of time. Entertainment- Non existent in the day, if you’re expecting an animation team, there isn’t one. Nothing going on during the day round by the pool, they do have an “activities” board - but these are all fitness related activities based near the gym. There was a pizza making class, and a tiramisu making class - but no games as such.. they have a dj on at the beach bar in the day instead, but it’s basically a guy behind a desk playing music so loud you can’t talk when having food or drink in there :/ then there are 2 rotated DJ’s in the evenings. No themed nights as advertised. No live music or singers, or shows despite having an “amphitheatre” just one bar with a terrace (or much is also the coffee bar and patisserie area and reception area) there are many bars and restaurants listed (5 I believe) but they’re just little areas that are interchangeably used at different times of the day - don’t be fooled into thinking there are “5 bars” “5 restaurants” because there isn’t.. Food- Main buffet restaurant was ok in the mornings for breakfast, dreadful for lunch, most of the food was always cold dispute being under heat lamps. I would definitely recommend ordering off the qr codes by the pool snack bar, or the beach snack bar, as these are at least brought to you hot (ish) but as for dinner… well, it is the same each night; and each same section is very small - it is very repetitive and is more traditional food than international food, if you have picky eaters you’ll be hard pushed here.:. We aren’t picky, everything tasted nice - we just didn’t either know what it was, or it was cold. Didn’t have ONE hot dish all week, despite it being under “heat lamps”. Bungalow bar- food (pool snack place) was cooked to order so if you want something warm go here, but it closes at 5:30 Beach bar- when we are in there for lunch the food was also nice, cooked to order so it was hot, but due to the volume level on the DJ we couldn’t actually hear each other.. Pool: The pool area is nice, comfortable sun loungers. The QR codes are in every parasol to order drinks to your sunbed which is great. Staff are great, and bring the drinks to you quickly We have been to Türkiye in October before, so we are aware the pools are usually pretty cold but the BA holidays listing stated that there was a heated pool- the pool isn’t heated and was FREEZING! There is no shop onsite either; so it’s a £25 round trip into bodrum town if you want to get snacks like crisps etc for round the pool/in the room. It’s £10 to taxi to old town and £15 back - longer on way back due to the motor way road, they have to go passed the hotel to get to the intersection where they can turn to come back and in."

"Having just returned from a week staying at The Hyde Bodrum and can highly recommend this hotel. From check in where everything was explained really well. A thank you to the reception staff as I had read previous reviews that had said they were rude and didn’t explain things well which couldn’t be further from the truth in my experience (apologies I didn’t remember their names but the red head lady and the young gentleman from North Turkey where both very friendly and helpful) The food throughout was great, the buffet had great variety and flavour (it could have done with being a bit hotter), the beach restaurants food was delicious and presented perfectly and the Mirabelle restaurant (à la carte - 20 euros pp supplement) was well worth booking. Food is available throughout the day in various restaurants and they have late night snacks (burgers and wraps) from midnight to 2am which was well received when arriving late on the first night. The rooms are excellent and the hotel is small enough to not feel crowded. My partner used the Spa and said the massage was excellent. The only 2 small negatives are that our room was above the Afterglow nightclub and we could hear music loud until 2am at times and the age old problem of people reserving sunbeds at 7am and then not using them until the afternoon (one side of the pool is in shade so the other side gets full). Overall an excellent holiday with great staff, great food and a fantastically designed hotel. I will be returning!"
