La Quinta by Wyndham Bodrum

"We came 10 years ago when it was the Mavi Kumsal…we paid £30 a night it was empty, there were workmen around and we were in sea view rooms with massive sea facing balconies. We liked the views and locations. We came back again after Wyndham bought the hotel just for a day pass and had a great day, attentive waiters and lovely drinks …that cost us 33 euros a head and we vowed to come back June 2026 we came back to stay on a flash deal with Stayforlong….costing us £103 each for single rooms . We booked 6 club rooms. We were greeted well by the reception team who were always helpful and friendly . The bad bits : Our club rooms were awful. They each had some sort of issue such as no air conditioning, or doors that didn’t fit the frames, that didn’t close properly or had big gaps underneath . My air con was” fixed “ three times and never worked. It was 34 degrees and very difficult to sleep . My friends room had lots of little black flies every day coming through her vents.my other friend had a strong smell of cigarettes in her room that the cleaners could not get rid of. The walls are thin .The tile as are chipped.The mattresses are soft and sagging. My room was top floor with a great view of Bardakçi Bay but was hot as hell due to zero air con. The bar staff were disinterested and distracted and seemingly unable to make even the most basic of drinks. We couldn’t even get an iced coffee….it was just lukewarm watery liquid. Cocktails were atrocious and yet it said ultra all inclusive on our booking. We were told off for swimming in the pool at 8am as apparently it is shut till 9 am ? Better bits The waitresses in the dining room were lovely and we were happy to tip them . The food was good , cakes were nice, salads were delicious, the grill outside was a good idea.Breakfast was very nice, fresh honey comb and black cherry jam and lots of cheeses as usual.Very limited fresh fruit selection . The outdoor gym is a good idea because you can work out with a view….if you feel like it ! The sun deck was fab and we stayed there dipping in and out of the sea. The views are gorgeous. Not sure we would return…….we had no idea the standard of the club rooms and felt cheated .Shame. Also the numerous steps up to these rooms are an absolute hazard and one of my group slipped down . The stone is crumbling and uneven . I had 5 flights up to my room. For context we have been visiting Bodrum for 13 years and have stayed in a wide variety of accommodations ."
