"This hotel gave the strong impression of providing as little as possible while charging guests a premium. The overall experience felt far less like a four-star holiday and far more like an endurance test.
The building is tired, soulless, and clearly neglected. Empty, abandoned structures are dotted around the hotel, appearing to be former water features that have not been maintained. A large portion of the outdoor space was inexplicably fenced off, making the grounds feel much smaller than advertised. The photos used to sell this hotel are extremely misleading. There are only two lifts for the entire building, both slow and permanently queued, leading to long waits or frequent stair use.
Relaxation was not possible. The walls are extremely thin, meaning you hear everything: corridor noise, doors slamming, constant shouting, and chaos from neighbouring rooms. The guests at the hotel during new years were unruly, loud and kind of scary. Children were left to run through corridors knocking on doors and screaming, and at 11pm we could clearly hear a man shouting and swearing at his children as if he were standing in our room. Loud and aggressive behaviour from some guests was never addressed, which at times made the environment feel uncomfortable and unsafe.
Cleanliness and hygiene were a serious concern. On multiple occasions, vomit was left in the sinks of the main reception bathrooms for extended periods, even after staff were informed. Toilets appeared to be cleaned once a day at best and were already heavily soiled by early afternoon. Alarmingly, while standing on the steps at the front of the building, a rat ran across my partner’s exposed toes.
The room itself was another disappointment. It was extremely dated and dirty looking. It was also cramped and hard for two people to navigate. The bathroom was tired and grubby. The air conditioning did not work. There was only one bedside table, while the socket was on the opposite side of the bed, meaning phones and devices had to be charged on the floor. There are no kettles in the rooms, so making your own tea or coffee is not possible. We paid for a superior double room but were placed in a twin and told that the “superior” aspect referred only to the view, which felt misleading.
Food quality was extremely poor, with very limited choice. The “all inclusive” offering was highly misleading. We opted to eat out as often as possible in order to avoid the hotel offering of ‘food’, which obviously bumped up the expense of the entire stay and defeats the object of paying a premium for all inclusive. Guests must queue for drink machines that dispense a watery, frothy substitute for milk (assuming they are even switched on.) On several occasions, the machines were turned off before breakfast had finished.
Drinks were another ongoing frustration. Drinks were only provided in small plastic cups, water was only available on the bottom floor, and the main bar was rarely open. Despite being sold as all inclusive, guests are constantly expected to pay extra. Decent-tasting drinks cost more, making the all-inclusive label feel meaningless.
Facilities were equally disappointing. You have to pay to use the spa, pool tables, arcade machines, and more. The outdoor swimming pool was uncomfortably cold, and very little was genuinely included.
Staff were generally unhelpful and distant, with a few exceptions. The overall atmosphere suggested poor management and low morale.
Most frustrating of all was the price. We paid a significant amount via Love Holidays and felt the stay represented extremely poor value. We have stayed in far better all-inclusive hotels for much less. This is not a four-star hotel by any reasonable standard. Two stars at best.
If you are looking for comfort, cleanliness, safety, honesty, or a genuinely relaxing holiday, we strongly recommend looking elsewhere."
