Salles Hotel Pere IV

"Absolutely disgraceful experience. I booked Hotel Salles Pere IV based on recommendations from friends and family and expected a comfortable stay. Instead, I was left stranded in Barcelona in the middle of the night with nowhere to stay. After arriving from London at around 2:00am, I went to the hotel only to be told that I could not be accommodated because "check-in is at 3pm, not 3am." Despite having a confirmed booking and explaining my situation, there was no attempt to help, no empathy, and no effort to find a solution. I then spent over two hours dragging my luggage around Barcelona at night trying to find alternative accommodation. After a long day of travelling, this was the last thing I should have been dealing with. The member of staff was David, who was working around 3:00am on 30 May. He acknowledged the situation and told me that I could receive a full refund since the hotel was unable to accommodate me. The following morning, however, I spoke with Raphael, the Reception Manager, and his attitude was shocking. He repeatedly interrupted me, spoke to me in a rude and dismissive manner, refused to listen to my concerns, and flatly denied that David would ever have offered a refund. Rather than trying to help a paying guest who had been left without accommodation, he seemed determined to argue and dismiss everything I was saying. What should have been a relaxing trip started with stress, frustration, and complete incompetence. Being turned away in the middle of the night is bad enough. Being treated with such disrespect afterwards is completely unacceptable. This is by far one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had. I will be seeking a full refund and would strongly advise others to think twice before booking here."

"Disappointed! We booked this hotel for my 50th and booked a deluxe room. Upon arrival at 11am we were told our room was not ready and that we couldn't check in until 2pm on departure we noticed people were checking into their rooms at this time as we were in Barcelona for a few days time was important to us so wanted to check in ASAP. We checked into our room which was far from deluxe as stated a curtain covering a wall and very small window looking out on the pool area which generated a lot of heat and looked like a prison, a stay here in peek season would be unbearable as air con rubbish! The room was very small and fixtures falling apart hardly a 4 star would rate more like a 2 well basing it on our room alone and as for delux they have to be joking!!! The Hotel itself is in a good location for navigating round Barcelona but wine in a plastic glass no thank you!!!! Very over priced and over sold."

"I absolutely love this hotel. I travel frequently for business and I always stay here. Firstly because it’s location but the hotel team are total 7 stars. From the amazing reception team to the incredible bar and restaurant team. Special shout out to Janeth, Davide, Khatia and Ivano for making every stay special"
