Roger de Lluria

"Be careful!!! Cafeteria Venecia on the same road 30m from the hotel entrance belongs to Hotel Roger de Liuria. After a shopping promenade in the centrum of Barcelona we decided to return to our hotel by feet. We're tired and needed to eat something quickly before taking our pills. I ordered a carbonara spaghetti for me and a fish paella plate for my wife. I have NEVER eaten a carbonara soup in my life. Spaghetti might have been possibly cooked for a week ago or more. Since I had already paid them I decided to eat it and ask the waitress that served us to bring parmesan and pepper. She just disappeared from the shop. Another impolite waitress brought paella. I asked again for parmesan and pepper. She became a comet as well. Our mistake was that we ate at least half of our plates since we had to take our pills. Lucky us we had ordered Coca to drink. It helped somehow later on. Actually, I could not sleep all night long since I was on the verge of vomiting. I had decided to forget it but I checked my card charges and saw that this awful cafeteria-fast food place belongs to the Hotel Roger de Liuria which is supposed to be a descent hotel nearby. Hope that it has not the same bad quality of service as their cafeteria."

"Lovely boutique hotel in a beautiful location with easy access to Gothic district and Ramblas. Staff were helpful and breakfast was excellent. My only complaint was the mattress. It was very hard and uncomfortable. I felt the springs. It made it harder to fall asleep."

"For the money, (nearly 400 euro/night). this hotel disappointed. We expected a ‘wow’ and got a ‘meh’. The room was a decent size, yet lacked any drawers and had a giant unwanted minibar. The accent pillows had an unusual smell. The chairs in the room seemed old and worn. There was some damage and stains in various places. (See photos) The staff was very friendly and helpful. Location was very good as was the air conditioning."
