"Arrived and found lobby very bland and understated, not like a normal Westin product.
Check in staff said they were upgrading us to a renovated premium room based on our member level.
Bellman offered to deliver two stands for suitcases. We left to get something to eat. When we returned, no stands. After placing our luggage on the floor we barely had a place to walk.
Room a total disappointment. Two single beds were the entire width of the room. Then there was a little cut out area with a chair and desk. There was a long dangly light over the nightstand that just got in the way of using the stand. Bathroom was no more than a 7x7’ measurement plus a high step in tub; no shower stall. You had to use the grab bar to get in and out. Believe me there is no picture of this room and tiny bathroom on the website. Terrible.
The two slide closet doors would not shut. They just kept rolling open like the floor wasn’t level.
Had to have the front desk send maintenance up twice. The air conditioning wasn’t getting cool enough and the faucet when turned to cold water barely came out of the faucet.
There is no clock in the room. You have to check your own phone for time. If you need a night light you have to leave one of the bathroom lights on which then shines through the glass door leading into the bathroom disturbing sleep.
The bed comfortable but they don’t have a top sheet just a comforter which is too heavy for comfortable sleep, especially when your air conditioning isn’t properly cooling.
I asked the front desk to have housekeeping add a top sheet and bring a light blanket but leave the duvet/comforter. I heard a knock at the door and a gentleman who didn’t speak English hands me a folded sheet and a blanket. I told him I needed housekeeping to just add the sheet and blanket when they cleaned the room. He had to call someone and this prolonged the whole situation. I told the person on the phone to just have him leave the sheet and blanket for housekeeping when they came to clean the room. No luck, off he went with both items. When we returned to room the sheet was on the bed, the folded blanket was placed at the end of the bed and they had removed the comforter from the Duvet. Have no idea why they did this.
In addition, there is major construction going on the street around the hotel. I don’t seeing this being completed for months. They start early in the morning and continue to early evening. If you would like to rest during the day you can forget that. It’s a mess to wind your way outside the hotel. The view from your balcony is just equipment and junk equipment.
We were on the 2nd floor and apparently there is a subway built underneath the hotel. While in your room you can actually feel a vibration from the subway over and over especially at night.
When we walked out the front door in the morning to get a taxi they told us we could not use any of the taxis there because they only wanted airport runs. They told us to walk a block up the street and find our own taxi. My husband uses a cane and walking up to the under construction area was not the easiest. Where do you go where a major
can’t get you a taxi?
I would not recommend anyone use this hotel.
When a hotel is charging $350 a night for a hotel room you expect service and quality. That doesn’t exist here."
