What Ilunion Barcelona has to offer
Bogatell Beach
It’s not often you can combine a city break with a day on the beach, but Barcelona has a couple of stretches of gorgeous golden sand to take advantage of. The closest, Bogatell Beach, is less than 10 minutes on foot from the hotel and, while it can get quite busy in the summer months, it’s a great way to escape the bustle of city life – and there’s a whole host of lovely bars on the seafront too.
Sagrada Familia
Construction began on this stunning basilica back in 1882, and isn’t due to complete until 2026. Considered Antoni Gaudi’s masterpiece, even unfinished it attracts 4.5 million visitors every year and is recognised by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. It’s an extraordinary example of Gaudi’s unique architectural style and unlike any church anywhere else in the world. A 20-minute ride on public transport from the hotel, it’s not to be missed.
Rambla del Poblenou
El Poblenou is known as Barcelona’s creative heart, and this gorgeous tree-lined boulevard running through it, is home to some of the coolest bars and trendiest shops in the city. Stroll down to Poblenou Park, and the beach beyond, and you’ll notice there’s a more laid back pace to things around here in comparison to the bustle of La Rambla.
