Riad Shaden

"We had such an amazing 3 night stay at the Riad Shaden, its tradition and tranquil and the staff were so welcoming, helpful and friendly to us during our stay. The Riad was so chill and calming compared to chaos of the souks outside, which was a little daunting at the start but there was absolutely no need for it to be as I discovered. The room was cleaned daily and perfect for what we needed it for, breakfast was lovely and served to you at your table. We had already prebooked our trips before arrival but the staff can help you organise these and we did use them for taxis which was always the same driver who was also so friendly and helpful. The rooftop terrace was pretty and a nice place to chill for a nap on an evening after a day of walking around the souks and medina."

"When you walk through the doorway of this charming, authentic and tranquil Riad, it seems a world away from the chaotic and captivating maze of the souks in the medina outside. The perfect balance. We absolutely loved our stay here. The staff are so friendly and nothing is too much trouble. It was my 50th birthday and they arranged for a cake and flowers and also decorated the room with balloons. It was such a wonderful welcome. We arranged transfers with the Riad and Syed took us on a trip to the Ourika Valley which was absolutely beautiful. We can’t wait to return!"

"We spent 3 nights at the Riad Shaden towards the end of September, we were a little anxious after we were dropped off, and led down the narrow streets then taken off of the main road down a small alleyway, but once we arrived we settled in right away, our hosts were friendly and gave us some hints and tips, as it was our first visit to Marrakech. The room was clean, and had a nice feel to it, it was compact, but it had everything we needed for our stay, if you want more space to lounge around, there is a very nice roof top terrace that is quiet and perfect to spend an hour or two relaxing. The breakfast each morning was simple, but tasty, but it set us up for the day, each day was a slightly different variation on the day before, for 3 days that was not an issue. The location was around a 10-15 walk to the main square, the streets are narrow and quite chaotic at times, but the general rule is stick to the right, and let the mopeds go around you, once you get used to it, it is not that bad, it is easy to get lost wandering around the streets, but most paths will eventually lead you back to the main square, and from there it is quite easy to make your way back. Overall it was a very pleasant stay, and we had no complaints at all. If we ever head back, we would stay again"
