"What a delight! Wonderfully comfortable rooms with everything you need and really helpful staff on hand if you run out. Breakfast was a must, being spoilt for choice with a variety of different foods, hot and cold and the evening menu, in the restaurant of our choice, was always varied and delicious. Great pool and spa area too. The staff endeavour to make clients stay, memorable and they certainly succeed. The children did not want to leave and are planning next years stay…for longer!"

"We had a short stay this week with 4 adults 3 children (4,7 & 11). We stayed in the penthouse suite with the pool, the room was very spacious and the decking area was amazing, the weather for October was very good for us and we managed to use the rooftop pool, the pool isn't heated which I feel is a real shame as for the money it costs, I really do feel that it would elevate it to another level, or even a hot tub on the decking would be a compromise as if the temp is below 18 degrees the water would be really cold. Some of the reviews I read said that there was a smell from the landfill which is close, I personally didn't notice any smell from it or even see it, so don't let that out you off. Also read that there is often a language school which regularly use the resort for school kids and they can be really noisy and rowdy, I see the kids at reception and my heart sank as I thought that they would ruin it for us, but I couldn't have been further from the truth, infact they where so polite and when we see them at the beach they where so well behaved they should be an example for the school. The man at reception was amazing he told us of the free bus the hotel puts on throughout the day taking you into town and also got us a map of valetta and pointed us in the right direction. The dinner and breakfast where spot in great variety for dinner, we planned on having a meal away from the hotel but the food was so good we stayed in. The facilities where really good the heated pool, hot tub, sauna and steam room all in really good condition and free to use. All in all I really enjoyed our 1st family holiday at the sallini resort and can thoroughly recommend it to everyone. I hope my review answers some of the recurring things that appear in other reviews as negatives. But in my opinion there wasn't any"

"This hotel is in a location which requires some form of transport. It has stunning sea views. We have stayed at this hotel over the last 4 years we love its adult only pool and quiet but relaxed vibe. Some of the downsides include its multiple function as a wedding venue, language school, corporate events and is a favourite of large groups from other parts of Europe. Its proximity to the main waste tip on the Island which is apprix 1/4 mile away. None of these points ever reduced the quality of our stay its a large hotel which accommadted all with ease. This year was very different, we were unlucky in that there was a large festival nearby which had a Jamaican vibe. This attracted a high number of guests from the UK who would not normally visit this type of local run hotel. These guests took over the pool areas in volume, drinking and using drugs including canabis which is legalised in Malta but NOT for use in a communal or public place. Playing loud music and being very vocak as the alchohol flowed. We felt as though we were on an 18/30's holiday. I dont want to spoil anyones fun but the hotel did nothing to balance the needs of other guests, there were mixed messages about canabis use around the pool, which I must add I find a nausiating snell. We and other guests were forced to leave the pool area on several days. There was an increased smell from the nearby rubbish tip during the ladt few days the wind direction made it very unpleasant to use our balcony or be around the pool. Add to the fact that our sea view room for which we had paid a premium was a floor above 5 rooms containing the kids from their language school who being kids away from home played until way past 11pm across the balconys below. Disturbing our sleep. We were further dusturbed by some of the guests returning from the festival during the early hours. Our room was tired, there was mould on the bathroom ceiling, holes in the chair fabric and bedding. We also disvovered that the hotel had changed hands and the final straw was a cockroach in our room on the 3rd floor. Which came as little surprise when I reported it to reception. I have been visiting Malta for over 20yrs having stayed with friends and lots of different hotels and I have never seen a cockroach in any location. This is also a family hotel and some guests were smoking canabis near to the childrens pool too. We had booked again for next year but have since cancelled that booking in favour of a different hotel. We feel very disapointed especially as this hotel has a 4 star rating. We did speak with a lovely lady on reception who was very understanding. ( Most of the receptiom staff although helpful were very young and had only statted that month.) They lacked lexperience which did not help us to feel reassurred. There was no duty manager available until 2pm that day and although they offered a change of room it would have placed us within a large group of festival guests so we declined. She did agree to speak with the adults in charge of the kids attending the laugage school as they were not due to leave until the day before us. I asked if they could be requested to return to their rooms by 1030pm which I felt was reasonable for their ages 10 to 14 yrs . I am happy to say that this was adhered to which subsequently improved our stay. Despite the plus points at this hotel its no longer for us we suffered too many negatives this trip and don't wish to return."
