So City Hotel

"The hotel is located right in the heart of St Js. Surrounded by pubs and clubs but do not let that put you off. We never heard a thing. Rooms are incredibly shielded from the activity on the street. When the hotel is quiet the breakfast is excellent as it is cooked fresh for You but when busy it is a buffet which means a lot of the time the eggs etc are cool or cold. This is unfortunate since it is a lovely place to stay. The staff are so nice and accommodating- even answering my most annoying and sometimes impossible questions (Where can I watch the Olympic curling!)."

"Arrived just after 7pm and had an easy check-in. Went to our room and looked ok. Definitely different to where we’ve stayed before. Right in the middle of nightclubs/bars etc so wouldn’t recommend if you like your sleep! Luckily we were visiting a friend so stayed with her on Friday and Saturday night. We had the aircon every night as the room was warm which did drown out some of the noise but could still feel the base from the club next door. Only 6 coat hangers for a weeks stay wasn’t going to work so asked for more when we went out the following day. Came back about 3.30 and no hangers and room wasn’t cleaned. Wasn’t a major problem so didn’t mention it til we went out the following day. This happened twice which isn’t right and was mentioned. We didn’t have breakfast at the hotel so can’t comment about that. We went round the corner to black bull round the corner as only €5 for a cooked breakfast. Other options are available and we went most mornings. The decor round the hotel was brilliant and definitely different. It was quite dark near our room (511) which was Morgan Freeman who I love. It’s in a very central location for loads of bars and restaurants but I won’t be going again"

"Visit with a mate for 4 nights. Location - great for people who want to party into the late hours. Still a decent location to use “Bolt” to visit other locations. If you’re coming for a site seeing holiday or a relaxing holiday this hotel is NOT for you. Hotel pros - modern, nice rooms & a nice rooftop pool & bar. Breakfast is good. Good for people looking to party in paceville. Sunbathing on the roof & the rooftop bar. Hotel cons - night club underneath the hotel and you feel the bass all night till it closes at 6am, but to add to this around 530-6am the staff the start setting up the breakfast area which is in the middle of the hotel & they’re so loud banging about, talking…so if you like your sleep id avoid this hotel. The rooftop pool and bar is great, but from noon till 2pm mercury tower blocks the sun so there’s a small section that just about stays in the sun. The pool is absolutely ice cold, but once you’re in it’s ok. If you’re coming to relax and site see, look at Valleta area, it’s an absolutely amazing town, but if you’re wanting to hit the bars and clubs this hotel is perfect for you. Easy check in and check out. Would I return, no I prefer my sleep id avoid :D"
