Hotels don’t get much more luxurious than the five-star Hilton Malta in fashionable St Julian’s – a small but lively town on Malta’s east coast. It’s perched right on the waterfront in Portomaso, where sparkling yachts bob in the crystal clear water.

There are three restaurants to choose from. Tickle your taste buds in one of the two à la carte eateries – serving Thai and Italian food – or tuck into international dishes at the buffet restaurant. The restaurants are accompanied by a trio of bars, one of which sits by the pool. Fancy a dip? There are four large outdoor pools to hop between – two have sections for little ones while one is reserved for adults. Plus, there’s an indoor pool tucked into the spa centre, which also has its own gym, hot tub and sauna.
