Great base in Sliema
Set right on the seafront overlooking Balluta Bay, this hotel gives you a brilliantly handy base for seeing Malta with a side of sea views. You’re in a sweet spot between Sliema and St Julian’s, so it’s easy to mix promenade strolls, rocky swim spots, café stops and evenings out without needing a complicated plan. It’s the kind of location that lets you dip between laid-back coastal wandering and livelier resort buzz very easily.
Back at the hotel, the vibe is easy-going and sunshine-ready. In the warmer months, the rooftop pool and sun terrace do plenty of the heavy lifting, especially with the rooftop pool bar on hand for drinks with panoramic bay views. When the weather cools down, the indoor pool and jacuzzi step in nicely, giving winter stays a little extra comfort and a good excuse to slow the pace.
Food-wise, you’re well sorted. The Penthouse Restaurant is the headline act, serving meals with lovely views over Balluta Bay, while the terrace bar is a handy stop for a relaxed drink overlooking the indoor pool area in cooler months. Step outside and the surrounding streets add plenty more restaurants and bars to the mix. This is a smart shout for a Malta break with sea views, a great postcode and year-round pool appeal. Check in, head for the promenade and let Balluta Bay do the rest.
The Plaza Regency is made up of two blocks. Guests will be allocated one of the blocks on arrival. Both properties share all facilities and are linked by a covered walkway on the 6th floor, as well as an open-air walkway on the 7th floor.
