"Firstly I would like to say that all members of staff I encountered were very good But this review is for those staying half board I booked the top floor restaurant Temptasian for an evening meal and was advised by the hotel that I would receive a 16 Euro per person deduction on the restaurants bill as I was staying half board.......great When I checked in I showed details of the restaurant booking at reception, they checked and advised me that the detail that I provided would allow the deduction to take place at the restaurant Following the meal I presented by booking detail that was confirmed be the hotel as correct- only to be told it wasn't I could not believe it - I was questioned by 3 members of the Temptasian staff and following my perseverance I did get the deduction This experience was totally unsatisfactory and ruined the special occasion meal that I had booked I lodged a complaint at the hotels reception immediately following the meal (they took pictures of my booking voucher) - but heard no more during my stay - disappointing I have since e mailed AX hotels and received an apology I still cannot understand how this simple process can go so wrong"

"Released from hospital and decided to recover at the palace. Where Mr Vijay Anand went above and beyond the call of duty in finding me a room. The room was spacious and very comfortable combined with the Mr Anandstaff really put me on the road to recovery. I can’t speak to highly of Mr Anand and his staff and the hotel"

"First, I want to emphasize that I'm rating a five-star hotel. The hotel has a good location. It's located on a relatively quiet street with moderate traffic, which is worth mentioning. The hotel has a great website. Unfortunately, the reality bears little resemblance to the website. We booked an executive room with a view on the 7th floor. We received room 743. The room has a very strange layout. A wardrobe is placed in the middle of the room, behind it in an awkward alcove is a desk and a bar. The room has a very long hallway, which makes the room seem small and cramped, despite its supposed size of 40m². The balcony is large, but very unpleasant. You can see the sea – as described – but you can also see the awful, dilapidated buildings of Sliema and the mess on the rooftops of the surrounding buildings. But that's not the hotel's fault; I booked this room myself, so I have no complaints about the view. I simply don't recommend paying extra for the view. The room faced almost north, and it was cold, damp, dark, and musty. The bedding was cold, damp, and unpleasant. The clothes in the wardrobe smelled unpleasant after a five-day stay. The bathroom was awful, with rusty details and was filthy. I debated for a long time whether to post the disgusting photo of the toilet, which I took after the room was cleaned by the maid, but I decided I should, for the benefit of the guests and for the management's knowledge. The hotel serves very low-quality and unappetizing breakfast products. One of the buffet tables was leaking. The cook making scrambled eggs and omelets didn't even wipe the pan; he just made new eggs on top of the rests of the previous ones. The placemats on the tables were worn. For breakfast, we only drank tea and ate bread with butter. The bread was good, and I can recommend the sweet pastries. A plus – sparkling wine – probably for consolation… The staff was not very polite and not very professional. One waiter wiped the table thoroughly, the other not at all. The gentleman at the front desk took the hotel payment in cash and wouldn't even issue a confirmation. He did this at my insistence. The bar staff refused to provide two brandy glasses. I understand they probably wanted me to drink at the bar, but their behavior didn't encourage me to do so. Pools. A plus for having them at all. There's limited space by the outdoor pool, and the floor is dirty. At 9:30, when we entered the pool area, there were long black hairs on the floor, and it was clear that only the center section had been swept. The staff doesn't bother to tidy up the tables, chairs, and loungers, which makes the space even smaller in such a small area. The indoor pool and small wellness area are fine, although the floor is very slippery. I absolutely do not recommend this hotel!"
