"From the moment we arrived at Qawra Palace, we were blown away by how amazing it was. We arrived at lunchtime, so after checking in we put our cases in the case room and went to lunch. The food was excellent and all of the restaurant staff were smiling and helpful. The food was hot and tasty and was constantly replaced by more amazing dishes. The food was consistently good the entire week and I ate well all week. We were all inclusive, but most days we missed lunchtime as we were out and about. When our rooms were ready, we grabbed our cases and headed up to the fifth floor. Our rooms were clean and only smelt for a few minutes when the airconditioning first turned on. We were blown away by how beautiful the view was and instead of lying in bed, we started waking up really early just to watch the sunrise from the balcony. The soundproofing in the rooms was very good. The road ran directly below our room but when the balcony door was closed you couldn’t hear outside at all. The beds were very firm, but when mentioned to the lovely reception staff, they offered to put a mattress topper on our mattres but I declined. I am not sure my “soft bed” hubby was overly impressed by my decision but I prefer a firm mattress. The shower in our room were piping hot and we had no issue with low water pressure. In fact the shower was very exhilarating and the towels were very clean and fluffy. Our room was cleaned every day. There are several swimming pools throughout the hotel. The outdoor ones are very cold. The sea is warmer. We tried the spa pool too which was lovely and warm but quite small and there were several very splashy children in it. The evening dinner in the All inclusive restaurant had a great choice. There was a different fish dish every evening and my husband was delighted to have rabbit stew on one of the evenings. My grandchildren were both over the moon by the delicious pizzas and chicken nuggets although by the end of the week they were also trying all of the different food choices. I ate a lot of seafood salad which was amazing. On the final evening, we had booked into one of the speciality restaurants Tsubu, which was Asian inspired. I don’t think it was as nice as the regular restaurant, but my daughter liked it very much. It does have a very calm and slower paced atmosphere. For breakfast, there was a huge range of choice, from cooked breakfast, fruit salads, cereals, yoghurts and delicious freshly baked croissants and pain au chocolat. We ate so well at breakfast that we didn’t need lunch (or burgers and sandwiches at snacktime) We visited the astrales bar in the evening. The entertainment team were very talented and energetic and the shows that they put on were really good and professional. The bar staff both in the Bar and at the poolside Bar were all lovely and friendly The mocktails were delicious and part of the “all inclusive” package. They were very nice. My husband and my daughter enjoyed the real cocktails and the beer too. I did try a glass of wine during my meal one evening but it gave me a headache so stick to the orange juices and mocktails. The hotel is a short walk from the Buggiba bus station, the aquarium and the Elvis Bar amongst other interesting locations. We were so impressed by the Qawra Palace and its dedicated team, that we have immediately booked for next October."
