Ampthitryon City Hotel

"Wonderful hotel located in the city center (5 minutes walk to the old town and 10 minutes to Elli beach). The main bus station is very close - 3 minutes. We had half board and the food was excellent. Each dinner had a different specialty (Greek, Italian, Chinese, etc.). We had live music at dinner and it was a very nice atmosphere. The pool is clean and there are comfortable sunbeds and umbrellas. Very friendly and helpful staff. They helped us with information about various tourist attractions and gave us very good suggestions that were worth visiting. Comfortable beds and spotlessly clean hotel. We would definitely come back!!"

"Lovely little hotel. Smack in the middle of town.(Next to marks and spencers ). Five mins walk to old town and 7 to beach. Surrounded by bars restaurants shops. Two mins walk to main bus stn. Breakfast fantastic - english breakfast and lots of pastries fruit cheese ham etc Food in evening was amazing. Something for everyone. Drinks very good. Rooms a bit dated and not much storage space for clothes but to base yourself here while exploring rhodes is perfect. Pool clean and comfly sunbeds and umbrellas. Staff all extremely friendly and polite without exception. Beds comfy and hotel immaculately clean. Rooms Not luxurious but comfortable and balcony with two chairs and small table. We had a pool view but a bit of an eyesore building next door to pool. Did nothing to detract from an amazing weeks stay in beautiful rhodes town. Would definitely return. Not many children there when we went mainly for couples i would say. Nice relaxed atmosphere. Lots of different nationalities . Greek music one evening at dinner and a live band another night. Cleaners were excellent."

"Have stayed in this hotel 2 times, first time 2023 and a second time Aug 2025. Since the first time 2023 the hotel has changed managment and made an renovation of the premises and yes, it's a lot better now. The pool have had a complete overhaul and there are new sunbends and parasolls. The restaurant also had an an update, more light and space and a new bar. Food is great, you can have lunch, dinner, snacks, drinks and so on and spend whole day poolside if you like. Breakfast was fantastic, we didn't miss a thing foodwise, it was all there. Maybe some eggcups could be useful... :) Entrance and lobby is also updated with a bar. Looks really nice and bigger now. One reason we chose to go back to this hotel is that the staff was really nice and helpful last time we where there. They are still are very nice and helpful, perhaps even more now. They make you feel very welcome all the time. Rooms are also cleaned very well and always looks tidy when you come back in the afternoon. The other reason we went back is of course the location. In the middle of Rhodes Town almost everything is close. Restaurants,shops, atm etc. is just around the corner. 5min walk to buses and taxis, 10 min to old town, 15 min to Elli beach, fantastic! I even walked up to the acropolis and back one evening. Downsides? Yes, but not really with hotel itself. It is situated in the center of a modern town so don't expect to see any magic sunset from the balcony, even though you can see the mediterranian from the upper floors. There some ugly houses around and some noise from the streets outside but that didn't bother us. We had a wonderful week at this hotel, I highly recommed it and if I go back to Rhodes island (probably) I will check with this hotel first again. Thank you so much Amphitryon!"
