You’ll find the Amalia Hotel in Dassia – a pretty resort town on the east coast of Corfu. Here, you’ll find a beautiful beach backed by olive and pine trees, and there’s a bunch of traditional tavernas to try out, too.
The hotel is well located – you can be rolling your towel out on the beach after less than a five-minute stroll, and the centre of town is within a 10-minute walk. Plus, if you want to visit nearby Corfu Town – the island capital – it’s just a half an hour drive away.
At the hotel itself, the action revolves around the pool. It’s a large rectangular number edged by loungers and a few day beds. There’s a bar just beside the pool for drinks, too.
Start the day with a generous breakfast from the buffet restaurant, and pop back for lunch and dinner. There’s always a choice of Greek and international dishes, made using fresh local ingredients.
