Atlantica Mare Village Paphos

"Overall it was a pleasant stay but not as good as it was hyped up to be. I always take a star off hotels outside UK but even then Mare Paphos Village doesn’t meet its star rating. TUI really needs to reassess this and their platinum rating - I’m basing that on staying at a 5 star platinum resort in Mexico earlier in the year. Nowhere close. We arrived in the early hours after a flight delay and a drink at reception would have been appreciated. Wasn’t given clear instructions on checking in and there wasn’t a pack in the room to read. We had to wait ages for the buggy to take us to our room and we could have easily walked it. We were just shattered and needed to get to bed. Breakfast finishes at 10am which is a bit early and you can’t get anything to eat after then until 11am. Surprisingly you can’t get food anywhere in the resort after 9pm and I saw on more than one occasion families having takeaway pizza delivered and they were all inclusive too. Food in the buffet was varied and tasty but hot food was always lukewarm, no matter what time you got to the buffet, and no microwave to heat food up. Soup and pizza fresh from the oven were hot though. Had two restaurant meals, first at Taverna which was just awful. Filled up on breads and dips and left the main on the plate, cold and just poor quality food. Green and Grill was amazing and hot, that was the best meal of our stay. Drinks were also hit and miss with mixers from a post-mix pump, canned or bottled tonic water would be better and more in line for a platinum resort. Staff were always lovely and friendly. We were in a suite and overall it was nice and clean but shabby in places. Shower space had stains, mould marks and cracks on floor and tiles and bedding (duvet cover and bedspread), although it was obvious it had been washed, had stain marks on it. The layout of the room was weird, shaver socket in bathroom but no plug for hairdryer/straighteners and dressing table in front of TV not a mirror. We were here end Oct/early Nov and got sun beds but the pool areas are too small for the size of the resort and can only imagine it would be absolute hell in summer months, unless you had a swim up room. We came to just chill out for a week and that is what we did. Will definitely return to Cyprus but won’t be coming back to or recommending Mare Paphos Village."

"**Amazing Review for Mare Hotel Paphos** I just got back from an incredible stay at Mare Hotel in Paphos, and I can’t say enough good things about it! The hotel is absolutely gorgeous, situated in a beautiful location with plenty of lovely walks nearby. The private beach is a real treat — it’s the perfect spot to relax and unwind. Everything about the hotel was spotless, and I was really impressed with the cleanliness. The food? Wow! It was outstanding, with a variety of delicious options, and the quality of the fresh ingredients was evident. The drinks were also fantastic, making for a great time at the bar. But what really made my stay special was the staff. They are simply the best! Anna and Stella stood out with their warmth and genuine care; they really made us feel at home. Even though I don’t remember all their names, everyone went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful experience. The facilities were top-notch, too. The kids' section was lovely, and my little ones loved the food options — it was all high-quality and fresh. I’ve traveled to many places, but Mare Hotel Paphos truly stands out as a gem. Thank you for a fantastic holiday! I can’t wait to come back!"

"The hotel and staff are fantastic! We had a sea view room (3111) right at the front over looking the coastal path and it was beautiful. We could have upgraded to a swim up but personally I didn’t think it was worth the extra £1200 they where asking for and if you where unlucky and got a swim up near the quiet pool the sun didn’t get to your terrace until around mid day in late Oct early Nov and set around 16.30 so not much point in my opinion. The quiet pool, adult pool and beach loungers were nice. The main pool was a bit manic for us so we spent most our time round the other pools and the little gem that we found was the adult only pool and they allowed 16+ around it. Stella was absolutely fantastic and made our holiday. She went round every sun lounger making sure you had anything you needed. She went out of her way and even made little slushy shots for everyone - she was AMAZING! The a la carte restaurants where fab. We had steak at the green and grill which was to die for. It was a proper filet steak not your normal run of the mill rump that you’d expect - special mention to Iveta who went out of our way to make our evening super special! The burger’s in the burger bar were exceptional. If you go for 2 weeks you get the choice of three restaurants, we only had the choice of 2 as we only stayed 6 nights and that was perfect for us. The breakfast and lunch buffet were superb! But the themed evening buffet was a bit hit and miss. There is a lot of choice and the quality is good but for example the Asian night could have been better and I was expecting the Cypriot night to be great but was nothing compared to the Meze we had when we ate out one evening. They did however go out of their way to make Halloween special and the food looked spectacular! I would absolutely return and as a bonus if you have little kids the small water park looked great!"
