"Stayed here for 2 weeks beginning of May.
Transfer from the airport was roughly 30 minutes, we were dropped off at the entrance you then have to walk down through the car park to reception takes 3-5mins. If you have mobility issues I think you can call reception for transport.
Porter shows you to your room, all accomodation is two storeys buildings, like a village (previously named Atlantica holiday village, this is known as this on tui website when booking trips). We were in block 44 we didnt pay for a sea view but were lucky enough to get a side view. Rooms are clean with a nice size balcony. We did have 2 issues during our stay, bathroom light flickering and aircon leaking but after reporting these they were fixed within the hour, so no complaints here. Maid leaves 1 bottle of water every day. Nice size fridge and there is a kettle with sugar and coffee topped up when required by the maid. We bought milk and took our own tea.
Safe is free, ask when you check in, 30 euros charge if you loose the key.
Restaurant - food was plentiful, themed evenings always found plenty to eat. Desserts were lovely not a big choice but tasty treats. They even do a fruit crumble - may i suggest though they need custard to go with these. Also icecreams are the same as at the pool snack bar choc ices on sticks, the restaurant needs tubs of different flavours. If you go early it gets very busy sometimes hard to find a clean table. Drinks are ordered with the waitress but sometimes no one came to our table until we had almost finished our food. There is only 1 girl taking orders it needs at least another person.
A'la carte restaurant can be booked in reception on the interactive screen, one free visit if you are staying over 5 days. Not a big menu here, portions are quite small we had the steak which was nice although the waiter did get the steaks the wrong way round, i had what my husband ordered he had mine (cooked differently). We didnt book again as we preferred the main restaurant, more choice.
Pool Bar/Snack Bar - staff extremely friendly, shout out to Velindre shes was always happy and even remembered my order, big credit to you. Queues went down quickly most of the time there wasnt a queue. Snack bar was great all portioned out ready for you to order from the staff, chicken burgers, beef burgers, chicken nuggets, fish fingers, pizzas and chips. Desserts were donuts, muffins, yogurt and fruit salad. These were all lovely. Icecream available from freezer, choc ices on sticks, i had banana or vanilla.
Pool - abit cold at first but did gradually get warmer throughout of stay, slopes in on one side. Inflatables and balls allowed. Lots of activities throughout the day, water aerobics, water polo and a seperate pool for water volley my favourite, loved this. Staff for activities are lovely - also had killer darts and killer pool (which I won twice) great fun.
Location - this hotel is out of way from everything, they do have a small onsite shop prices were alittle extra than other shops outside the hotel. We found 2 supermarkets but both are about a 10 min walk. There is J & R stores, go up the steps opposite reception up to the top of the street turn left and follow the road around the corner, go past the church (take a look inside) then there is afew restaurants, opticans and this supermarket. The other shop is 24/7 supermarket, bigger, again top of street turn left then take a first right its at the top of this road. Here there is also a burger wagon in the evening, run by 2 young boys very friendly and the food is delicious, im sure they'd appreciate your support. This area is also where you catch the bus opposite side for Tombs of Kings station bus 615 from here we walked to Kings Avenue shopping mall and the faboulous Jumbo store this is massive you have to walk around it all to get out lol. Change at Tombs of Kings station for the harbour bus 611. Coral bay bus 615 is same side as 24/7 shop. Coral bay we found quite stoney swim between the buoys near lifeguard station for sandy area. Watch out for the waves my husband lost his sunglasses. Bus fare is 2 euros i think goes up to 3 after 9pm or 6.5 euros for day ticket (get this if going to harbour)
We also went to Marios golf centre it was abit of a walk though. Quite expensive, we paid 50 euros for the 2 of us for 2 rounds of nine holes. You have to pay to rent the clubs and carry bag. We enjoyed it emmensely but only did it once due to cost.
We also went to the waterpark with Tui, collected from top entrance of hotel, be aware you do have to stay until 5pm for collection, unless you want to make your own way back.
Another place we found was Duck pond market this was on a wednesday and a Sunday, this was a mixure of market stalls and a car boot sale, inside building was enormous. To get here quickest way is to turn right out of hotel follow road to junction (main road) then turn right, walk down to Mike Kiosk shop (very small) and turn left alongside shop, one minute up the road. Market is on 8am until 2pm.
Coastal area at the back of hotel - there is no beach here, beautiful views, walk to the right there is St Georges Bay small cove, sunbeds here belonged to hotel St Georges also noticed the water was quite stoney so you'll need swim shoes. We didnt stay carried on walking another 15 minutes to Sandy bay but the storm had brought in mountains of seawood which was left as a barrier so couldnt go in here either. Disappointed so had a drink in bar and left. We also turned left out of hotel, around the corner you'll find where the cats are fed and where they can sleep. Always food there, i bought some and left it there for them. Some cats wonder around the hotel but not many. Our favourite was the black/brown one. He/she always came to visit us as we returned from dinner lol. The ears are clipped when they have been neutered. We thought it was from a fight until we were told.
We hired bikes from the hotel for 10 euros for 24hrs as we tried to find a nice beach. But unfortunately didnt, afew coves but stoney or no sunbeds. We didnt get as far as Venus beach as it wasnt flat, very up and down and in the blazing sunshine it was horrific. So turned back after about an hour. Wish we took the bus to Venus beach but left it to late as last few days were quite cloudy for us.
So hope I've helped you decide if this hotel is for you.
Overall nice hotel, nice staff but not alot around area."
