Imlauer Hotel Pitter Salzburg

"We paid for two separate rooms and we were mostly very comfortable. The bed was large. The room was spacious with a little balcony and we were overlooking the garden which was very pleasant to wake up to because the sun rises from there. However, the bed was supposed to be for two people but they put two single duvets so for one person who had paid for one large room one large bed we ended up having a very small duvet to sleep in , this was not really well filled out by the hotel and they should have done a little bit better than this for the price we paid the thing I didn't like about the eating arrangements. On arrival night they said they had a Special restaurant downstairs with an Austrian theme. We went there a very off waitress greeted us we ordered some drinks, I specified Sprite but she brought in a lemonade kind straight from a draft and I couldn't accept that and she said you asked for it you pay for it. I raised this with the hotel subsequently and they deducted the amount for the Sprite. The second meal we had was a recommendation that just round the corner the had was another Austrian restaurant however it was their restaurant again. It had the same name and the food was pretty terrible. The pasta which was supposed to be stuffed with spinach - the pasta it was in edible as it was so thick and hard and what was inside was really mashed spinach which didn't taste nice at all. The service was very poor of hand and I wouldn't recommend either of these two restaurants. The third one was in their expensive restaurant up on the top floor which looked beautiful. We went there and we got a lovely table. A nice waitress serving us. I chose a vegetarian dish and I said could this be roasted? She said we can do anything you like however it was barely edible with the root vegetables which were as hard as rocks and I was very surprised when they came to clear the table. I said it was very difficult to cope with this meal she said I'll mention it but no, nothing was taken off the price of the meal which was quite expensive.. We ordered the soup the first night and we tried again the Austrian restaurant in the basement and I ordered a soup again which was supposed to be mushroom soup the other was supposed to be potato soup, they tasted exactly the same so I don't know what the chef or the organisation thinks about serving food which is quite disgusting actually so therefore my review we have to point out that the food is very mixed and for vegetarian very little choice indeed. Avoid their restaurants. The location was lovely very near Mirabel Palace and a short walk to the old town, but we took a bus and Austria Salzburg has a guest pass which allows you to travel freely for free."

"Dropped in for an afternoon apertivo at the Sky bar, the view was spectacular and the setting nice. When paying however the waiter took our cash and said thanks for the tip. It was quite facetious of him not to ask but assume we didn't want our change and his service was as expected, nothing out of the otdinary. He thought we were tourists so took advantage and this is the reason I am reviewing the skybar."
