Cosy charm on the waterfront
Hotel Supetar Cavtat occupies an original three-storey townhouse in the seaside town of Cavtat, commanding views over the Sustjepan peninsula. With its warm lighting, cosy soft furnishings and suites that sensitively reflect the building’s 19th-century origins, it oozes charm.
But don’t get too comfy or you’ll miss all this area has to offer, including a bijou pebbly beach and a pleasant promenade lined with quaint restaurants. The real draw, though, is the distinctive stone-walled Old Town of Dubrovnik, which can be reached in just over 30 minutes by car or via a scenic 45-minute boat trip.
Once you’ve strolled around the town’s photogenic medieval fortifications, sought out the quirky bars and taken a guided tour or two, you’ll be glad to put your feet up back at this attractive hotel, with its pretty Mediterranean flower garden and outdoor saltwater pool. Enjoy an aperitif in the hotel’s laid-back bar before tucking into Dalmatian delicacies at the restaurant, which caters for veggies and vegans, too.
