"I stayed at MOB Hotel in Cannes and really loved the idea of it. The whole place has a cool, industrial-chic vibe — think Northern Quarter in Manchester or Ancoats, where I’m from, with a bit of Shoreditch or Berlin thrown in. The interiors are beautifully designed, with stylish finishes in the rooms and bathrooms, lovely artwork, high-quality linens, and an exceptionally comfortable bed. The pool is great, and the whole aesthetic is thoughtful and well-executed. There’s a consistently good soundtrack playing in the background, which adds to the laid-back, trendy atmosphere. The clientele was really mixed in a good way — young families, groups of friends, travellers from all over — which gave the place a great energy. It felt modern and inclusive. Breakfast was also nicely done — freshly baked croissants, good bread, boiled eggs, cheeses, ham — and the young female staff in particular were genuinely kind and welcoming. One of them at breakfast was especially sweet and caring when I wasn’t feeling well. I didn’t catch her name, but she was a standout. That said, there were a few things that took the shine off. On more than one occasion, I was very assertively asked for my room number at breakfast — in a way that made me feel like I was being accused of sneaking in. I’d been there three days, and it just felt a bit unnecessary and uncomfortable. I understand they charge €20 if you haven’t prepaid, but it gave the impression they were overly focused on checking who was “entitled” to what — not something you expect from a place with such a warm design ethos. Another issue was the noise. I’d chosen a room on the street side thinking it would be quieter being away from the beach, but it was actually really noisy at night — car horns, traffic, and generally not restful at all. I didn’t sleep well on any of the nights I was there. Also worth noting — there was no water in the room, which felt like a small but annoying oversight in an otherwise high-end setup. In short: this hotel has loads of promise, and parts of it really shine — especially the design, the pool, the general vibe, and some of the younger staff. But there’s an edge to the service in places that took away from the experience, and the noise at night was a real drawback. With a few changes, it could be excellent — but for now, it’s more of a stylish-but-flawed stay."

"I have just returned from a Friday to Monday stay at MOB Hotel, and I genuinely feel compelled to warn others about how shocking this experience was from start to finish. First and most distressingly, a deeply sentimental gold necklace was STOLEN from our room. This wasn’t just jewellery it was a family heirloom passed down from my great-grandmother. I am devastated. Only staff or cleaners had access to our room, and when I reported this to reception, the response was shockingly casual they simply said they'd "speak to the cleaners." No follow-up, no apology, no urgency. Completely unacceptable. To make matters worse, the woman working the night shift was unbelievably rude every single time we interacted with her. Her attitude was hostile and unprofessional, but things reached a new low on our final night. We went to bed early (around 10pm) due to an early flight the next morning, only to be jolted awake by the fire alarm going off. We checked the hallways and balcony there was no fire and no one being evacuated, so we were confused and worried. Moments later, this same night staff woman came banging on our door, shouting at us and accusing us of smoking in the room (we don’t even smoke). When we tried to explain that the alarm had just woken us up, she got even more aggressive and started shouting louder. My partner asked her to calm down, to which she responded by yelling more and storming off while muttering rude comments under her breath. It was honestly shocking and deeply upsetting to be treated like that. Between the theft, the appalling customer service, and the complete lack of professionalism, this was one of the worst hotel stays I’ve ever had. I will never return, and I strongly recommend you stay away from this place if you value your belongings, your sleep, or being treated with basic human decency."
