Why fly to Corsica Ajaccio?

Cheap flights to Ajaccio take you to the historic capital of Corsica. A large French island about 130 miles southeast of Nice, Ajaccio lies on its northwestern coast. Its biggest claim to fame is Napoleon Bonaparte, born here in 1769. He's not the only attraction, though, as the port is surrounded by fine scenery and mountainsides of wild herbs and heather. Add more than 20 white sand beaches, and Ajaccio ticks all the boxes.

Best time to visit

Ajaccio is at its warmest between June and September. This is the busiest time to visit the city as it takes on a French Riviera vibe with a busy beach scene and warm sea temperatures. Accommodation can be expensive during these months as jetsetters fill the hotels, cafés and bars but if you plan enough in advance, you might be able to pick up a deal.

Avoid the crowds

Give the crowds the slip by visiting Ajaccio between mid September and October when the cruise ships have departed for the season. Fly to Ajaccio during this lovely little window and you'll be free to explore the Old Town at a leisurely pace and catch the last of the sun's rays on the beaches with plenty of space. You'll have a similar experience if you visit in May.
