Methodology:
The Cheap Ski index compares the best-value ski resorts reachable from the UK, based on publicly available live price data from the 2024/25 and 2025/26 winter season and from January to March of 2026. Each resort has been scored against a price criterion of; 1-day lift pass; 1-day ski hire including skis, boots, and poles; 1-night hotel or chalet accommodation; airport transport based on the cheapest typical route; and the price of a beer. All euro prices were converted at a fixed rate of €1 = £0.85.
Lift pass and ski hire prices were sourced exclusively from official resort websites, tourism boards, ski-operator pages, and verified equipment rental shops using standard or – where available – lowest cost adult 1-day prices. Dynamic pricing models were not included and where resorts provide tiered prices, an average low-to-mid season rate was used. For accommodation costs, verified booking websites were used to compare prices for a 1-night stay in a mid-range (3-4 star) hotel or chalet.
