Pantelleria, a rugged volcanic island between Sicily and Tunisia, is one of Italy’s best-kept secrets.
Pantelleria Airport is located just four to five kilometres from Pantelleria town centre. The easiest way to reach the centre is by taxi, with the drive taking around seven to 15 minutes depending on your exact destination.
Car and scooter hire are also available at the airport and are popular choices for visitors who want to explore more of the island during their stay.
Public buses serve the island and include routes that connect with the airport, although services are more limited than in larger destinations, so checking timetables in advance is recommended.
Many hotels can also arrange airport transfers, which can be a convenient option if organised before arrival.
