• Last week at the Paris Vivatech show Fortune unveiled the 2026 Fortune Europe’s Most Innovative Companies List

  • easyjet has been listed along 300 companies across 18 countries and 21 industries as one of the most innovative companies in Europe

  • Innovation is in easyJet’s DNA, and the airline is accelerating its operations and customer satisfaction with AI-driven operations and technology with innovative solutions

easyJet has been named in Fortune’s 2026 list of Europe’s Most Innovative Companies, which recognises 300 businesses driving progress across the continent. Now in its second year, the ranking evaluates European companies with more than 250 employees across three criteria: product innovation, process innovation, and innovation culture.

Innovation is in easyJet’s DNA. Since launching over 30 years ago, easyJet changed the way people fly to the present day where the airline leads the industry in digital and operational innovations making flying easier and more affordable for passengers.

easyJet has transformed the travel experience by putting digital innovation at the centre of the customer journey, including through its mobile app.

easyJet has been using AI-driven operations and technology to strengthen operational performance and improve customer satisfaction, helping keep low-cost travel easy and affordable. AI is already being applied across the business, from operations and scheduling to customer service, booking, and easyJet holidays. At easyJet, AI is focused on delivering practical results: reducing disruption, enabling faster decision-making, improving the customer experience, and supporting profitability, all within a clear governance framework.

easyJet’s technology-enabled Integrated Control Centre (ICC) in Luton, which manages up to 2,000 flights a day, has already delivered significant year-on-year improvements in resilience and operational performance.

Kenton Jarvis, CEO of easyJet, said:

“Innovation has always been at the heart of our business and it helps us to strengthen resilience, give customers more choice, and improve satisfaction. We remain focused on how innovation can continue to make travel easy, affordable, and accessible for all.”

"Europe’s most exciting companies are solving problems that matter,” said Grethe Schepers, Lists Director, Europe at Fortune. “These companies are turning fresh ideas into real growth across industry and services, from manufacturing and energy to healthcare, technology, and consumer markets."

The list is unveiled today at VivaTech in Paris during an exclusive Fortune session presented with Schneider Electric and EY. Fortune’s Executive Editorial Director, Kamal Ahmed, leads the conversation alongside Frédéric Godemel, Executive Vice President, Energy Management Business and Executive Committee Member at Schneider Electric, Joe Depa, Global Chief Innovation Officer at EY and Elena Breda, SVP Product Strategy, Innovation, Sustainability at Electrolux Group.

Financial services and technology are the two largest sectors represented, with 48 and 32 companies, respectively.

The airline has over 350 aircraft flying on over 1,200 routes to more than 160 airports across 35 countries. Over 300 million Europeans live within one hour's drive of an easyJet airport.

easyJet aims to be a good corporate citizen, employing people on local contracts in nine countries across Europe in full compliance with national laws and recognising their trade unions. The airline supports several local charities and has a corporate partnership with UNICEF which has raised over £17m for the most vulnerable children since it was established in 2012.

In 2022, easyJet published its roadmap to net zero by 2050. The roadmap, which also features a combination of fleet renewal, operational efficiencies, airspace modernisation, Sustainable Aviation Fuel and carbon removal technology, has set an ambitious interim carbon emissions intensity reduction target of 35% by 2035, validated by the Science-based targets initiative (SBTi). The airline’s ultimate aim is to fully transition its fleet to zero carbon emission technology, which it will achieve through a number of strategic partnerships including with Airbus, Rolls-Royce and GKN Aerospace Solutions. Since 2000, the airline has successfully reduced its carbon emissions per passenger, per kilometre by one-third.
