Have you ever thought of sleeping under the stars, swimming down a river or running from coast to coast?
Well now you can, so it’s time to re-think your week-end plans…
We’ve collaborated with adventurer Alastair Humphreys, who went on expeditions such as cycling round the world, walking across India and rowing the Atlantic and has been named as a National Geographic Adventurer of the Year, to explore Europe’s best microadventures which can all be completed in a weekend from some of Europe’s top city destinations.
Microadventures are simple expeditions and challenges which are affordable and easy to organise. They are designed to encourage us to get Out There and Do Stuff.
Alastair has helped us create 20 mini-guides to inspire you to do something exciting, a great alternative to the classic city-break: hiking, cycling, kayaking, swimming in a river or simply walking in the forest. Our microadventures are for anyone who fancies a challenge, they are classified by "levels of difficulty" and "best time to go", so everyone can find something achievable.
