Philippines typhoon
Your support helped UNICEF provide immediate life-saving care and supplies, as well as lasting support to help families rebuild their lives. In 2017 a group from easyJet travelled to the Philippines to learn more.
In November 2013, Typhoon Haiyan hit the Philippines. It was the largest typhoon ever to hit land and UNICEF launched an emergency appeal to help the estimated nearly 6 million children who had been affected by this disaster.
easyJet made an immediate corporate donation of £20,000 and launched an on-board collection to help those affected which raised over £460,000.
UNICEF provided emergency health kits, shelter equipment, life-saving food for malnourished children, health supplies and clean drinking water for families and children like Cherlyn.
