Adults-only island escape
Pulled right up to the sandy shoreline on the coast of Sal, Melia Laguna Beach Resort deals in breezy beach breaks for a grown-up (16+) crowd. And it makes a great base for discovering Cape Verde's charm, as it's just five minutes' drive from the picturesque town of Santa Maria.
So, let’s talk facilities. There are two pools – one that’s all about activities, and a second spot that’s just about relaxing. Speaking of, the spa is all about the R&R, with a sauna, steam room, Turkish bath and Jacuzzi, plus a menu of massages that might just tempt you.
Four restaurants means plenty of choice on the foodie front. The main buffet spot dishes up spreads of international fare at mealtimes with show-coking and sea-views on the side. Elsewhere you’ll find an Italian eatery, a Mediterranean restaurant, and the jewel in the crown: the Teppanyaki joint. There’s a snack bar pitched up by the pool, too, and a trio of other watering holes to ensure you’re never too far from a cocktail.
Before you fly to Cape Verde, you must register your details and pay an airport tax. It’s around €31 per person and you need to do this at least seven days before you go. You can do it at https://www.ease.gov.cv/ or find out more at https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/cape-verde/entry-requirements. If you don’t, there could be long delays at passport control when you arrive, causing you to miss your transfer. And if you miss your transfer because of this, easyJet holidays won’t be liable. We strongly recommend registering and paying before you travel to ensure a smooth start to your holiday.
