"We are a family of four. Two kids are 10 & 7. We booked Eden Andalou for Christmas 2025.
Welcome/Arrival
The airport pick up was smooth & v convenient. When we got to the hotel the guest relations manager greeted us & told us to sit at the couches. We got Moroccan tea & were given many forms to fill out rather than simply giving in our passports to reception. The guest relations manager was very poor - she told us very little about things like where our room was located/information about the Spa or Gym (it was actually closed because of renovation works, but she couldn’t tell us when it would reopen). She also didn’t tell us anything about the kids club or entertainment ( esp regarding Christmas Eve/Day). If you book for 3 nights or more you get a meal in the Fez Moroccan restaurant, guest relations manager also never discussed this.
Room
The rooms are basic at best. Not 5 star standard. Shower is in the bath with no curtain or anything so place gets drenched. Kettle in room but no milk to put in tea or coffee. Room only had two free sockets so bring an extension lead if you are a family with at least one device per person to charge! They put petals on everything each day which is not necessary or aesthetically pleasing, just creates mess. Towels provided are extremely cheap and raggedy. Walls paper thin. We had a very noisy neighbour and as a result endured interrupted sleep. The doors beep if you open them so couldn’t even knock on their door to tell them to shut up for fear of waking kids.
Hotel Facilities
We visited in December- it was very cold. This was unfortunate - the hotel is not heated. Reception area, restaurant etc all v cold. People were eating their meals with full coats and jackets on. Night time entertainment is outdoors also which is v uncomfortable in wet & cold. Although I was not keen on the band so was happy to avoid indoors. Shop on site is insanely overpriced and there’s a minimum spend of 200 Dirham to pay by card. If you plan on coming in winter pack your winter clothes! It might get warm in the middle of the day but you won’t be warm in the hotel at night or in the mornings. The Spa & Fitness Centre is by far the worst I have encountered. When it reopened I went in to get a massage. The room was freezing cold, there were no robes provided, just more cheap towels. I complained afterwards and they offered me a free visit to the indoor pool (yes, they charge 150 dirham to use the indoor pool - per person same price for children) Don’t bother using the indoor pool, it’s so expensive and the water isn’t very warm. The so called jacuzzi is just a few jets to the side of the pool where you can’t even sit. There’s no steam room or sauna or if there is it’s extra. Staff, especially the female receptionist do not care if you live or die, truly. No lockers to store your belongings. Just a really crappy facility. Whole place is just thrown together and finished really poorly.
Food & Drink
Some food in the all-inclusive restaurant is nice, some is not. It kind of reminded me of a canteen at a school. Really bright lighting and ugly chairs. Desserts were really good. There was way too many staff I thought, some of whom were just standing around and getting in the way. Cocktails in the bar were awful. Way too sweet and nothing you’d recognise from normal bars. Prosecco is not included and costs 120 dirham per glass. One bar man out of like 8/9 was very good and really attentive. Again there’s a lot of standing around staff in the bar that don’t serve drinks just stand around. Very strange. The Fez restaurant was terrible. Very cold. Tables too low for the chairs so not a bit comfortable. The wait staff also I think must be on commission per dirty plate? You’d have your cutlery down 1 second and they’re over whipping it away. Food was literally no different to the food in buffet, just brought to you by a waiter…
Entertainment
Animation team get a lot of good reviews here and they are very into their roles. They are genuinely good with the guests and interested. Our kids really enjoyed the sports activities with them. A lot of the entertainment is based around them dancing to loud music, which some kids/parents liked, but at 11am when you’re reading your book by the pool in peace it’s a bit jarring. Christmas Day when Santa comes in on the camel was amazing in fairness, we all loved that. Kids loved the water park and playing in the pool, which was heated. I would stick to the outdoor heated pool instead of bothering paying for indoor one.
In summary I would not return. The hotel is not cheap & markets itself as 5 star, it just isn’t. While some staff were lovely, some were really poor. I often seen them watching videos on their phones on full volume, while sitting at reception in front of guests. If you are going in winter pack warm clothes! They don’t heat the hotel (thankfully you can control heat in your hotel room, but everywhere else is freezing)"
