The main airport in North Macedonia is in Skopje, the capital city. While currently easyJet only offer direct flights from Skopje to Geneva, you can easily book a flight using worldwide by easyJet to travel on other routes, including London to Skopje.
From there, you can hire a car to explore the beautiful nature surrounding Skopje, or you can also use buses to travel around to many of the major sites if you’d prefer not to drive and have a bit more time!
If you’re interested in visiting the western attractions of North Macedonia like Lake Ohrid, you can also considering flying into Tirana Albania, which is only about 2 hours’ drive from the North Macedonian border.
Start out by exploring the interesting architecture and bustling bazaar of Skopje, as well as visiting interesting sites like the famous Stone Bridge. From there, it’s easy to escape into the majestic hills surrounding the city, where you’ll discover amazing hiking trails and the beautiful Matka Canyon. Travel a bit further out to discover the diverse wildlife and pristine lakes of Mavrovo National Park. And no trip to North Macedonia would be complete without a visit to UNESCO-designated Lake Ohrid, which is considered the deepest and oldest lake in Europe. Spend some time there enjoying the charming town and swimming in the crystal-blue lake.
