"I’ve struggled with how to rate this holiday. Some parts of this hotel are outstanding but others did ruin the holiday for us.
We are 2a & 1 x 6y girl. We were celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary.
Transfer:
Miramarboss 👌🏼👍🏻 spot on! Would definitely use again.
Arrival:
Didn’t start the best. We arrived & were welcomed & offered a drink & seat - great!! The we were ignored for around 20 minutes whilst they dealt with others arriving after us. Others got chat & discussion around what the hotel had to offer. After feeling frustrated, I went to the check in desk myself and asked what was happening. They checked us in & we were shown to our room. A couple of days letter, we went to guest relations to see if they had a hotel map as we were getting lost & very confused. They offered us a map & questioned why we didn’t get one on arrival. We said we were given nothing on arrival. They the discussed everything with us & also booked us 2 à la cartes. The Italian & the Steakhouse. They were shocked with our arrival & apologised.
Rooms:
We had a standard room with land view. It was perfect for us. We overlooked the outdoor buffet restaurant so we had a view of the activity pool & beyond. Modern, clean, good size. Good lighting & mirrors! Vital for us women! As it was our anniversary, we arrived to balloons & cake which was a lovely touch. The cleaner was good but the mini bar was pretty intermittent.
Pools:
Slides - good for our 6 year old. Could perhaps do with a couple more inflatables but not a major issue. Shame it closed for 2 hours in the middle of the day everyday too. It always fell when our LG wanted to go.
The kiddie pool was really only suitable for babies & toddlers & after that, you only had the main pools which were all 140cm deep throughout. This was slightly too deep for our LG who is also tall for her age.
We spent our days by the relax pool. I would go down most mornings around 9am & some days would get front row beds but there was always plenty of beds in the 2nd row. Many would disappear off to breakfast for a while & some do hog beds throughout the day for kids that were never touched. The activity pool was rammed & beds were everywhere there was a space, on grass, on mud, almost in bars & restaurants….it was also noisy but hey, it’s the activity pool!
Waiter service was very hit & miss….there were very busy but we just didn’t see them much round our way.
The relax pool does wind round to the adults only restaurant & there are a few outdoor tables positioned within millimetres up to the pool edge. No signs saying these are restaurant only tables. We didn’t really know what the restaurant was and nobody seemed to be sat on the tables inside or outside either. We saw one couple sat on the outdoor tables one day whilst their kids played in the pool. The kids kept coming up to the table and eating from their parents plates. We thought nothing of it. One day when we were late getting to the pool, no beds were available so we placed our towels & bags on the floor by the pool near the adults only restaurant. Our LG went off swimming in & out & came out at one point for a quick rest and drink. I sat her on one of the chairs by the pool right out of the way. White plastic, poolside, outdoor chairs that are millimetres by the pool. It was August, no beds were available & it was in the shade by the trees at the pool. I just wanted her to sit for 2 minutes & have a drink. Within seconds a man came out from the restaurant and started shouting a load of abuse at me, flinging his arms around & telling me she couldn’t sit there. I explained there were no beds or anywhere to sit & she just wanted to sit for a minute. I had sat there before & not used the restaurant. He kept yelling to the point he started coming over to us & pushing us away. Appreciate it was near the adult restaurant but these tables were not really near the restaurant & nobody was in the restaurant. I took photos of where we were as it was all so ridiculous, happy to follow rules but this was crazy, there were no signs. Either move the tables away from the family pool or allow everyone to sit on them.
Adults only pool - Devine!! Popped the LG into kids club and we went to heaven!! Cocktails 👌🏼 service 5* Pool was like getting in a bath, it was just great. Beds always available.
We spent one day at Kekova with friends, lovely area, very quiet & sunbeds easily available in the middle of section. Limited drinks available but no issue for us.
Buffet:
Mayhem, chaos!!! No flow to the restaurant, people were darting everywhere. The amount of crashes of people & plates 🤦🏻♀️ it got pretty samey too. The food itself was good but I got bored very quickly. Perhaps this is why they only offer 1 free à la carte per visit so that u get fed up & pay for the à la cartes. Service was shocking no matter what time of day & there are no coffee machines at breakfast to just get yourself a coffee. It was very canteen like. I gave up even going to breakfast after a couple of days & just opted for a patisserie coffee.
Outdoor seating & smoking = disgusting! Every night, surrounded by people smoking and blowing it everywhere like it was a 1980’s nightclub. No consideration at all for kids or anyone.
Mealtimes at this hotel were the poorest I’ve had in a holiday hotel. I got to the point I couldn’t be bothered to go for a meal as I didn’t want the hassle & fight & couldn’t be bothered to hunt for something to eat.
À la cartes:
We visited the Italian & Steakhouse. The Italian was poor even for a free visit. Staff meh! The Steakhouse was out of this world and worth every penny! 👌🏼 staff fabulous!
One visit for a 14 night stay in a hotel like this we felt was poor. We are regular Egypt visitors where you tend to get a minimum of 4 visits per week so this was a real shock, especially after how much we had spent to be here.
Patisserie:
LOVED this place!!! The coffee baristas were ace! Super place & I looked forward to my visit every morning (& every other opportunity) good coffee, good service. Only gripe, it was closed very morning around 9am for cleaning!?!?! 🤔 Pretty sure it was 24 hour so why close it at peak time for cleaning?? Anyway just frustrating I had to delay my morning coffee if I timed it wrong. Ice creams great, cakes & snacks fab!
Lunch:
The outdoor snack restaurant was brilliant. So easy, so convienent and just wanted we wanted each day. No need to dress, dry or anything, grab a snack, sit, eat & go. Always tables available & good staff.
We visited the Indian one day for lunch. It was ok but we didn’t bother again. No complaints but just preferred the outdoor snack bar.
Entertainment:
Out.of.this.world!!!!! Never experienced entertainment like it. We’re not really evening entertainment people but these just drawed you in!! Shows, events, kids funfair evenings, parties…..literally amazing! Bar service was a wait and they have limited drinks but not a major problem.
Kids club:
Fantastic, fun, safe, absolutely brilliant, caring, attentive staff. We felt like they really got to know our LG & welcomed her everytime. Apart from a couple of 1 hour closures for cleaning, it was open all day & even up to about 10pm I think. She’s never enjoyed kids club but we couldn’t keep her out!
Beach bar:
We visited here most afternoons at sunset, lovely bar, good music, lovely view, great cocktails & pretty good service most days.
Sports bar:
Brilliant bar for footy. Great atmosphere with fellow supporters even if the staff were a little less excited for it all 😂 They were accommodating but really needed to be a little more enthusiastic working in a sports bar. It was full for the couple of games we watched.
The holiday wasn’t bad but it could be so amazing with a few tweaks. The main walk way through the hotel looks beautiful & everything is clean & modern but we feel the hype of this hotel was way more than what we saw. The hotel seems to have too many rooms for the pool/outdoor area. Everything felt very crammed around the pools. Staff were mostly ok, nothing overly friendly where we were drawn to a particular person/people though. The kids club & steakhouse were the best staff for us.
The shops outside the hotel are all very friendly & we bought a few bits ourselves. Prices range wildly so do your research. We bought a few bits from in the hotel too finding their prices & quality to be better/just as good. Be warned, the ‘Asda’ shop will lock you in the shop as soon as you walk in!! I hate that and demanded to be let out straight away!"
