A natural wonder with history’s fingerprints
It’s not hard to understand why people return to Didim time and time again. This is a classic resort town on the Aegean coast in Turkey that has sweeping beaches and the kind of water you can see your toes through. But there’s more to Didim than just a glorious beach break – there’s a rich cultural heritage to these parts. The town is famous for its ancient ruins, including the Temple of Apollo, one of Turkey's most well-preserved ancient temples.
With sightseeing and beaches checked off, it’s good to know that Didim also has a great selection of places to eat, and it's not hard to come by Turkish favourites, including fresh seafood and meat grilled to perfection. And if you want to return home with some trinkets, you can pick these up in the town’s bustling marketplace that sells local handicrafts.
