"Just back from a last minute booking at the Aydinbey Famous partly due to past reviews but clearly we were not staying in the same place. The building was clean and tidy and well looked after by the cleaning team , we found reception staff aloof and generally non engaging from the minute we walked through the doors at 3am after a long day travelling, until we left including a complaint about food quality, again showing little interest or will to resolve my complaint but more about that later. Our first experience of the AI concept was the minibar in the room which consists of a few bottles of water and a couple of miniature cartons of fruit juice. No soft drinks and no beers … that’s a new one on us in any supposed 5* AI hotel room however was a decent size for 2 people though it had a double bed and a single bed plus a pull out chair bed so would be uncomfortable for a family if I’m honest
Pool area is spotlessly clean with a decent enough bar with staff that are engaging, friendly and made the hotel bearable. The entertainment team ( all 2 of them plus a dj) didn’t do much they do a morning dance by the pool then he does his first darts comp of the day whilst she does a non verbal aqua aerobics without speaking a single word , just waving a pool noodle, she then disappears for most of the day. After lunch he does a second darts competition then water polo evening
entertainment is a joke with singers who
can’t sing a note.
Food is truelly shocking! Hot food is the same at EVERY meal chicken stew chicken casserole beef stew beef casserole steamed fish, powdered mash potato steamed veg …. Lunch and dinner every day all week , loads of salad leaves and various tomato salads other salad items are unidentified and unlabelled items of mixed concoctions with no clue what was in them Live cooking stations consisted of cooks warming precooked turkey meat, and burgers plus cooking filets of white fish. This poor quality food poorly prepared and poorly cooked caused me to complain at reception which got very little interest the following day managed to get a meeting with the ‘head chef’ Musa, who accepted the quality and poor delivery of meals plus lack of labelling was a problem he was aware about but this was the hotel groups ‘concept’ he offered as an apology a meal in the Al a carte restaurant of the day , the italian which turned out to be just as bad poor quality tasteless mush that was not befitting a 5* hotel.
Overall we were glad to leave, we have visited Turkey over 40 times since 1997 and this was the worst food we’ve ever er encounter and if this had been our first visit to Turkey I doubt we would return
This is described as a 5* hotel, it’s not and is at best a decent 3/4 * the AI concept is 3* whilst the food would struggle to be considered 3* on its best days.
Would we return to the Aydinbey Famous ? No we wouldn’t
Would we revisit any of the Aydinbey group of hotels? No we wouldn’t
Would we recommend this hotel? Absolutely not
There are better hotels locally and far better resorts than Bogazkent, Belek"
