"A very comfortable hotel for a relaxing holiday in a seafront location. We spent 4 weeks here in January and though the hotel was very quiet, it didn’t lack atmosphere and the service by the wonderful staff was second to none.
The rooms, though a little dated, are spacious, offering lots of storage and kept spotless clean by the hardworking cleaning staff. The balcony is of a very good size with 2 chairs, large table & a drying rack for clothes. The bathroom is well equipped with good lighting and the wc is in a separate room.
The hotel lobby/lounge is large and comfortable and offers beautiful views across the patio terrace, gardens and out to sea. The chairs & sofas are comfortable to sit in and it’s a lovely relaxing area to sit drinking coffee and watching the world go by. It can be a little cooler in there and a bit echoey at times, but still very nice.
The food is all freshly prepared and beautifully cooked with a huge range of fresh vegetables and fruit. The salad bar is also excellent and the grill offers freshly prepared items for all meals. The staff are happy to cook any special dietary requirements or preferences which you may require. The restaurant is kept very clean.
One evening we experienced exceptionally heavy rain and has to exit the à la carte restaurant (which is a separate building), via the kitchen to return to the main hotel and I’m delighted to say that the kitchens are also spotlessly clean and the staff were very suitable dressed for good preparation. An unexpected reassuring bonus to see ‘behind the scenes’! The à la carte restaurant also provides excellent food, served in a more formal setting and is excellently run by Chandrey, who provides a very efficient and welcoming service with a good eye to detail.
The entertainment is of a mixed quality. Some very good (Gabsi Fancay, a very nice gentleman, who sings and plays the keyboard twice weekly), and some definitely not do good who tended to play their music as loud as possible to hide their poor capability to sing! This was an out of season holiday, so in the main season it could be a different choice of performers.
Jamal, who is in charge of daytime activities is a very enthusiastic and polite gentleman who encourages you to join in things, but isn’t pushy or forceful in any way. He’s very experienced in fitness and aqua fit programmes and provides a good variety of exercise in à light-hearted and fun way. A credit to the hotel.
There is also a mini-golf area at the front of the hotel, free of charge.
The bar staff and restaurant staff are also a credit to the hotel and offer a very efficient service in a very friendly and polite manner. How they remember what drinks you like is amazing. Many à time you get to your table and the drink is waiting for you. A very special mention to Hassen, Saf & Mohamed who were very hard-working and efficient and looked after us in the lounge bar and made our holiday very relaxing and happy. Also thanks to Amauer, Said & Mohamed in the buffet restaurant for equally as good à service.
All staff on reception are friendly, polite & helpful and work hard to maintain an efficient and professional service to all guests of many nationalities. They also provide a currency exchange at a favourable rate as Tunisia is a closed currency, so the rate is stable wherever you are.
The hotel is located right on the beach in Hammamet Nord and is set in lovely gardens maintained to a high standard with ample sun beds & seating outside, both around the pool, in the gardens, by the beach & on the hotel terraces.
The hotel is very well maintained, but above all, it is the staff who make it work and who look after you incredibly well. Thank you all and we’ll see you next year.
TIPS: if you wish to get pool towels these are available from reception but you have to pay à 20dinar (refundable) deposit for one. They can be changed as often as you like.
You will also be required to pay a tourist tax upon arrival at the hotel, also at reception. You can use cash or credit card for this purpose."
