"We recently stayed at this hotel and overall had a really lovely holiday. The hotel itself and the grounds are beautiful and well maintained. We did, however, experience a few cockroaches in our room during our stay. My husband dealt with them (my hero!), and we later found out that other guests had similar issues. Although maid service was advertised as every other day, it increased as the week went on, which made us think management were responding to the problem.
The food was generally very nice. While the selection isn’t huge, even as a fussy eater I always found something to enjoy — even if that meant sticking to chips or pasta with sauce. Everything we tried was fresh and tasty.
Most of the staff were fantastic. Maria at the pool bar was absolutely lovely and quite the comedian too, and the other lady working with her was just as friendly. Manuel at the evening bar was brilliant — he brought so much life and humour to his shifts and even encouraged my husband to try speaking a bit of Spanish, which really entertained me! The only downside was one male staff member who covered the pool bar during breaks; he didn’t wear a name tag and was consistently quite rude to several guests and I didn't see him crack a single smile even when talking with his colleagues.
The main bar could do with a revamp, as it feels dark and a little dingy, and the seating is uncomfortable. Because of that we didn’t spend much time there, so I can’t comment much on the evening entertainment, although Manuel always managed to brighten the space when he was working.
Hardworking Team & Clean Grounds
All of the staff we encountered were clearly very hardworking. We regularly saw maintenance workers repainting around the pool and grounds, gardeners tending to the outdoor areas, and additional cleaners constantly keeping the poolside and communal areas spotless. The room cleaners worked incredibly hard too — if we weren’t quite ready to leave when they arrived, they always came back later with no complaints. The staff in the restaurant were equally lovely and hard working. Quick to clear dishes and clean tables ready for the next guests to be seated.
The People We Met
One of the unexpected highlights of our stay was the lovely people we met, we met several groups during our stay and spent days around the pool and pool bar with them, and even enjoyed a few nights out together. Maria eventually joked that our 'gang' was getting to big as we all tried to squeeze around a couple of tables in the pool bar. They genuinely made an already enjoyable holiday absolutely fantastic, and we’re hoping some of them might join us again when we return in November for my 40th birthday.
Return Airport Experience – Tenerife South
Our journey home from Tenerife South airport was a bit stressful, so worth noting for other travellers. We shared a taxi with a couple we met in our hotel who were on the same return flight. We got through security very quickly thanks to fast‑track and then browsed duty free and grabbed some food while waiting for our gate to be announced and looking for our new friends. When the board showed “C” we understood this to be just an area, so we continued to wait for our specific gate keeping an eye out for them. Once it appeared, we headed straight there and passed a very long queue, which we assumed was for several gates nearby. Unfortunately, we later realised this queue was actually for the E‑Gates used by UK passport holders only. Luckily we found our friends who had been in the queue for some time and the people behind allowed us to rejoin them. Some people had been waiting in it for over two hours, with a few even missing their flights. Had we known, we would have joined the queue immediately, especially as there were shops and restaurants on the other side. It would really help if passengers were informed earlier. Many of the E‑Gates weren’t working, which made the delays even worse.
Despite a few issues, it was a fabulous holiday overall, and we are already planning to return in November for my 40th birthday. A great hotel with lovely staff, hardworking teams, and amazing company — with lots of potential."
