"I am fortunate to have been staying at the Tomir for many years now and I’m a firm believer in that it’s always the staff that make a hotel stay truly special and the Tomir is the perfect example of that! This comes from the top, never will see you a more hands-on hotel manager as Nico, he’s here there and everywhere around the hotel, not only chatting to guests but also helping clear dishes at breakfast, checking round the pool during day, welcoming guests at check in etc, etc! And this really rubs off on the staff too who are all so friendly, the whole atmosphere around the hotel has this relaxed, casual but at the same very professional feel to it. They really have perfected that at the Tomir! In terms of the hotel itself, the location is so convenient, only 20-30 mins in a taxi from the airport and a 5 mins walk to Puerto Portals, which is one of THE places to visit on any stay in Mallorca, plus the beautiful Oratori beach alongside it and a similar distance in the other direction to UM Beach Club. Palmanova is also only a 5 mins taxi away so there’s so much on your doorstep, but actually we find that we spend most of the day time just chilling at the hotel because the pool area is lovely, yes it can get busy at peak times but there’s always enough beds to go round, and the pool itself is huge! The adjoining bar serves a brilliant selection of drinks and we always enjoy lunch there, ok so it’s not fancy food, it’s relatively simple but it’s done really really well, and good value. Although they do serve food in the evenings, the vast majority of guests will go out to eat, and you really are spoilt for choice in Portals, or anywhere around the local area. However one of the highlights of our stays is always a pre dinner drink up at the hotel’s Altitud rooftop bar, which is stunning! This relatively new addition has been beautifully designed and the views are incredible, there is no better spot to watch the sun go down whilst enjoying one of their tasty cocktails! On the subject of tasty, the breakfast is another standout for us, with the most amazing selection of food on their buffet, including your choice of eggs cooked to order, it really is the perfect start to any day! And finally the rooms of course, of which there are many different levels on their pricing structure, if you can, go for one of the sea view rooms because that will be on one of the higher floors, giving you an elevated view over the roof tops of the beautiful bay above Portals and over towards Palmanova. The rooms are well appointed, spacious and flawlessly clean. Some may say they are a little basic in their design, and that brings me on to my last “outstanding” point in this review, and that’s the Tomir’s continual appetite for improvement. Every year I go back, they have done something new over the winter, and this year they have the huge undertaking of a complete renovation of all the higher floor rooms, and seeing the designs, they look fabulous!! The Tomir taking things forwards yet again for 2026! If you are looking for a well located, welcoming and reasonably priced hotel in this area of the Island, you will not find anything better than the Tomir. And I, as well as all their other regular returning guests (of which there are many!) am already looking forward to my Tomir trips again during this coming year…!"
