"We came at the end of September for two weeks. Overall we hade a really nice and relaxing time. As other reviews have mentioned, the rooms are quite dated and in need of an uplift, particularly the bathrooms. Although fully functional and of a good size they are a little dark and most metalwork somewhat tarnished. The infra red bathroom heaters were not functioning and I suspect that the hotel deemed it warm enough to assume they were not required. However, Sept/Oct mornings and evenings are a bit fresh!
We had a studio which was worth the extra cost as it gave us plenty of room to sit and relax away from the bedroom.
The tv in the ‘lounge’ area has only one English language Chanel, BBC world news. All other Chanel's are Spanish and German.
If self catering or half board etc., the kitchen area is well equipped but any extra requirements can be obtained from reception.
The bedroom has two 3’ beds side by side to form a double. The decor was somewhat unconventional in that the pictures were of sketches of naked women (also in the lounge/2nd bedroom)!
Plenty of hanging space and drawers.
Although Jet2 suggested there was no daytime or evening entertainment there actually was. Some provided by the in-house team and others by visiting acts.
The pools were well kept and there were plenty of sunbeds and parasols. The indoor pool was beautifully warm and the sauna and steam room were fully functional, as was the gym/fitness room. The Spa offered manicures and massages etc. as required.
The lounge bar was spacious and service was prompt. All inclusive drinks were a little disappointing. Ok, they were premium brands of spirits but limited to gin, whisky and vodka. Cocktails were pre-mixed. Anything off the list cost about €12. There was no option for all inclusive visitors to pay a little more to upgrade a drink. For example, cava was included, but to have a kir royal I.e. add a drop of cassis liqueur was not possible. But if you paid, it was €12. When queried, I was told it was because they served a superior cava!!! Not really the answer I wanted or expected.
The restaurant food. There was always plenty of choice at all meal times and dishes constantly replaced as necessary. Show cooking was a bit disappointing as generally unless you spoke to the chef, all meats and fish were well over cooked and dry. When I asked the chef to cook the thin cuts quickly he obliged and they were perfect. He seemed to think a crispy piece of meat is what was we wanted!
Wines were available on tap as was beer soft drinks and water.
Waiting staff were excellent and cleared away plates promptly and quietly.
A big thank you to Maria, Maria, Mohammed, Jorge and Carmen , Juanjo and Patricia the restaurant staff who served us so well. Additionally all the Chefs who listened and took on board all requests and suggestions.
The ‘in house’ supermarket was very well stocked and had nearly everything you would need if you needed to supplement your stay or were self catering. Fresh bread was always available.
Reception staff were happy, welcoming and ready to help.
Oh, of course there’s always a but!
The holiday was let down by only one area of staffing. Housekeeping. After 8 nights we had to ask for clean sheets. We were told they would be automatically changed every 3/4 nights. The, what I think were rubberised mattress protectors caused us to sweat quite a lot and most nights the sheets suffered, and the bottom sheet was always very crumpled. Housekeeping made the beds each day. I say made the beds. Yes they were very tidy on first inspection until you turned back the duvet to get into bed. The duvet was neat but the sheets were just as tangled and untidy as when you got up in the morning!. Wash basins were never wiped down and when the soap dispenser ran out I placed the emp unit in front of the basin but it was still there after the room was serviced. Sadly the floors were not swept and any thing that was accidentally left on the floor e.g. talcum powder, was still there days later.
Just as a tip for those who like a pillow menu, there isn’t one and the pillows are very firm!
With a few tweaks to the housekeeping, and show cooking and a little room updating this hotel could genuinely be a 4star hotel than one hanging by its fingertips to 3star. The HM group have a little jewel that now needs polishing.
The hotel is in a quiet location but only 6-7 minutes stroll to a lovely beach. It’s about mid way between Sa Coma centre and Cala Millor centre, both about a20 minute flat stroll."
