Maspalomas Resort by Dunas

"Overall the hotel feels very dated, our room was musky, smelt awful, and the quality of the furniture was poor - although the beds were super comfortable. We were very disappointed that there was no kettle in the room, a basic in the UK and no wardrobe in the third bedroom and every day the maid left less towels than the number of people staying in the room, meaning every evening we had to trek to reception to request enough towels. The hotel wanted us to pay 30 euros per day for a kettle! Overall the staff were not very friendly and as we were British, we did not feel very welcome, some of the guests were particularly rude once they knew we were not French or German. The quality of the drinks was very poor, the food was OK, but not worth what we paid for the holiday and we were not able to book the a la carte on arrival as it was already full. EasyJet should really be honest and upfront on their website that this is a French hotel, as the day and evening entertainment is predominantly in French, and as British guests we did not feel welcome here. Overall the trip was very disappointing and the only highlight was the beautiful weather. There are plenty of hotels in Gran Canaria - I would avoid this one if you are British."

"Nice stay, above average food in the restaurant. We liked the garden bungalows. Clean. Choose room away from activity pool and main scene due to very much noise in the evening and into the night."

"Unless you speak French don't bother!! Entertainment staff only speak to the French & do everything in French bungalow lovely and clean, a la carte not great! When asked if English we were put in a corner, yet the French were treated to champagne on arrival! At the al a carte restaurant!"
