"After reading a lot of negative reviews before our trip I was rather apprehensive for our holiday but was pleasantly surprised.
Could it be better? Yes….. could it be worse? Absolutely! This trip for us was a cheap deal so could understand if you paid a lot you could be disappointed. But we had a great time.
The place itself is looking abit tired in places, I was very happy with our room though. We were in room 169 and it was positioned right next to the pool which was so handy, we could sit on our patio and watch the kids in the pool, also we stocked our fridge and freezer up with beers, juice and ice lolly’s from Aldi (taxi up the road a few euros) and would pop in and out the room for drinks and snacks all day. The little kitchen area was sufficient to prepare small meals, we only had sandwiches at lunch time. The room was clean when we arrived and spacious with plenty of storage for clothes and things. One thing I didn’t like about the room though was the sofa bed, I was expecting a pull out double sofa bed but it was actually a small single that pulled out from underneath and the sofa itself was the other bed, which was very hard. Was fine for my children but don’t think adults would like to sleep on them. Would have been better if it had been an actual proper double pull out.
The breakfast wasn’t up to much at all, the toaster took an eternity and everything was luke warm. The guy on the eggs and pancakes a couple of the days wasn’t very efficient, stood waiting for eggs and pancakes and then he would disappear. Our kids mainly ate the pastry’s and doughnuts but on the last day they were no where to be seen until we were leaving the dining room. They were usually always overdone too. My husband only ate a sausage sandwich most days but on our last day no sausages. In their place was chips! I mean we are British and love chips but not for breakfast!Saying all that it didn’t bother us too much and managed a small snack. The rooms got cleaned/towels changed every other day, but apart from when we arrived and were left with 4 towels, every other time the maid only left us 2, which you could clearly see we were a family of 4 staying, so we had to go over to reception to ask for more. I read before about the people on reception being miserable but we found them really friendly.
The pool is a lovely big one and a smaller one. Both nice. The jacuzzi like pool definitely looked like it needed some work and wasn’t appealing at all to get into. Like other reviews state the life guards are strict. I wouldn’t say miserable as such as they were very polite when telling people but it just seemed abit unfair on the children no inflatables, not even a tiny balls etc. but luckily it didn’t bother my kids, they were happy with their goggles just jumping in and playing with sinkys. If you have boisterous energetic children they would probably be bored. The staff at the pool bar were very friendly, we never ate there though but the food looked ok from what I could see. One day we did stay in for the evening and we got a Chinese delivered off Uber eats and ate it on our patio, it was called Chino Great World and I’d def recommend . They deliver takeaways to outside the reception.
These apartments are located in the middle of no where really, nothing around, you could walk to melonaras I guess but it seemed quite a walk and not a particularly pleasant one, and we are generally good walkers. Luckily getting a taxi wasn’t a problem, ask on reception and one arrives in a couple of minutes, and they didn’t cost too much, about 8euro to playa de ingles. There is a bus stop just outside aswel, we used this one day to go to anfi beach, was straightforward.
Did I have a good holiday? Absolutely yes.
Would I stay again? Possibly if the price was right, the apartments themselves arnt a problem, the problem for us was the location, and I also wouldn’t pay for the breakfast."
