Kimpton Atlantico Algarve

"Had a most amazing stay at Kimpton Atlantico Algarve together with my family. Very spacious and clean rooms, comfortable beds and large bathroom. Loved the pools and the amazing landscaping on the property! The people made it even more special, especially Front Office and Guest Relations Arman, Elizabeth and Mr. H (as they call him). Friendly and attentive F&B staff as well. I recommend and hope to be back soon!"

"Arrived here Sunday around 3 PM after a 5 hour drive down from Porto. Immediate warm welcome by the bellman and taken to Julia at the front desk for wonderful conversation and check in. Julia made a great restaurant recommendation along with recognizing me as an IHG member and sharing a little of her personal story when I asked. We had booked a King Premium with ocean view and balcony. It was worth every extra penny and would recommend this type of room. We walked the entire property which has lush garden like feel, incredible 5 minute walk down wooden stairs for direct beach access (not a private beach since no beaches in Portugal are private) but it felt private due to the time of year. We rented two beach lounge chairs and umbrella for E 20 for the day. It felt like the hotel was about 50% full which actually made our stay more pleasant. We enjoyed the pool area (2 larger adult style pools) and one smaller kiddie size pool. Pool tools and staff were always available. Plenty of chair options. I could see how in peak season it might be a battle for chairs but we never experienced any issues. Every time we asked for something, everyone was so nice and accommodating. We did eat dinner in the on site restaurant and it was good but not great. May have been due to our choices (pizza, etc.) : The only tiny concern was the daily breakfast which was part of our package. Excellent food choices, fresh prepared omelets and eggs your way but the coffee service and table setting were inconsistent. It almost felt like they did not have enough staff. This was not a big deal but I thought it odd since everything else was 100% on point. It did not bother us since we were on vacation but I did see several guests get frustrated. Remember that Kimpton brand is slightly more modern, hip(with good music playing in the outdoor area) and relaxed vibe. Bikes in the lobby for free, 5 PM Social hour for wine or soft drink. The location is far enough away from old town Albuferia but a 15 minute taxi ride. Would 100% stay here for a week or more. Having a car allowed us to use this location as a base and drive to Portimao and other regions in the Algarve."

"Beautiful hotel with a modern design that captures the colours and warmth of its surroundings. Staff was very friendly especially, Elizabeth Martin who always went out of her way to see to our needs and excursions. Met wonderful people from across the globe. My husband and I truly enjoyed our stay. Bonus, Food and drinks were great, I will be back."
