Wander into the Westergas area for food halls, galleries and pop-ups, then hop on the tram or a bike and you’ll be canal-side in no time, doing Jordaan wanderings, Anne Frank House moments and “one more coffee” stops.

"It’s really not worth the €200+ price point we paid for our stay. I have to be honest, I didn’t find this hotel as impressive as I had hoped. While the setting in the park is lovely and the building itself is historic and beautiful, the facilities left me underwhelmed. The rooms are compact, and surprisingly, there is no wardrobe. This was the first hotel I’ve ever stayed in where I had to live out of my suitcase for the entire trip, not ideal, especially given the price point. There were only five hangers provided, with no proper space to store clothes, which I found very inconvenient. The adjacent restaurant was also disappointing. The food was not enjoyable at all, the food was so salty, and for the standard and price, it could do a lot better. As someone who drinks copious amounts of tea, I was particularly let down — they really have a long way to go when it comes to making a proper cup of tea. Again, very underwhelming and certainly not worth what you pay. As for the location, it’s fine, but not great. It’s not on a tram line, so we ended up relying on taxis most of the time. Bike hire is an option, but that’s only useful if you’re familiar with the area. Overall, while the surroundings are pleasant, the lack of basic amenities, the disappointing food, and the location make this a place we would not choose to stay in again."
