Comfortable base near Vatican City

In the sleepy surroundings of Aurelio, a neighbourhood on the northern side of Rome that borders Vatican City, Raganelli could be the ideal spot to base yourself for that Italian city break you’ve been dreaming of.

Buses and trams are both easily accessible from here, so making your way in and out of the city centre will be straightforward. If Saint Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican is first on the agenda, head to the bus stop just opposite the hotel and you can be there in about half an hour. Back in Aurelio you can stroll around the Villa Doria Pamphili park – public gardens that are home to a 17th century villa.

The neighbourhood here is largely residential – so follow the locals and you’ll find some great authentic Italian eats in the cafés and restaurants. The hotel lays on a continental breakfast buffet in the mornings, perfect for a fuelling up for a day of sightseeing. In the evenings you can unwind with a drink in the lounge, or for a tipple with a view, head out onto the terrace and watch the sun set over the city.
