Perissa Bay Hotel

"We booked this back in July and it was a very cheap deal making it difficult to review!!! The hotel is better than average but not as good as “ very good” ( this is the flaw in Tripadvisor rating 3 being average 4 being very good!) We had booked a standard room and it was more a basement room , slightly below ground level which I would not recommend,Om assuming superior rooms are better. Breakfast was OK . Pool area spotlessly clean but small. Bar excellent, The main plus was the sun loungers on the beach , Wouldn’t not return but would definitely not go for a basement room"

"We had a 4-night stay at this hotel. Last minute booking. We've been to Kamari before on Santorini, but Perissa is the quieter side. This hotel was ok - room was basement - clean and kept neat/tidy each day. Receptionist was very kind and helpful. Gave us plenty of tips about the place. What we didn't like: The sunbeds across the road - hideous if you want peace and quiet. Packed in, four-poster loungers that have a sun shade, so you can't move them. Noisy music - trying to create some sort of vibe that just didn't work! Staff trying to flog us cocktails - "cheaper for residents of the hotel". We had a few hours there the first day we arrived and after that, we walked down the road and paid for lovely loungers, beach front row, where service was good and we had peace and quiet. Each day we came out of the hotel, it felt were hounded by staff to get us onto their "free" beds. No thanks! Beaches - we knew beforehand the beach was volcanic sand. That was fine - however, rocks beneath those lovely clear water are lethal. We had water shoes but even they couldn't keep our grip. Fine when you go further out, but trying to get out of the sea - we had many laughs, at both our own expense and of others. Do be careful though, seriously! The pool area was nice - though we're not pool people, but went in the spa pool on day one. Changing area below ground level was also clean and nice - we were out of our room by 11 but utilised the beach all day and changed around 6pm. Restaurant is below deck - weird vibe - staff not speaking to anyone, clearing stuff away with no smiles or conversation, lurking behind curtained area watching people. Breakfast offering - could have been nicer. Restaurants and shops were nice. We had some great food - not expensive. Shops limited but we didn't expect anything more. Would I go again? Probably not. Was an ok break and weather was nice. Airport - spotless - compared to some I've experienced. Plenty of toilets - immaculate."

"Just got back from a brilliant week at the perissa bay hotel. Alex was so helpful he couldn't do enough for us. The hotel was very clean, the room was cleaned daily and fresh towels every day. Location is perfect everything you need is on your doorstep. The beach is straight in front of the hotel, and comfy sunbeds in the beach. The pool was immaculate and the sunbeds were plenty. We met some great people and the whole place had such a friendly feel. The area is very safe. Breakfast was fine nothing fancy but enough for us, if you want more choice you can get that along the strip. This is a great base with the best host and value for money. We will book again, see you next year Alex. Thank you for a wonderful holiday."
